I can't see much difference in this case when you can play console and PC games using the same controller, on the same display, except a PC is capable of higher resolutions and framerates (neither is obligatory, in case you mind).

That took a while.

With all the time in between the original English release and this I had more than enough time to learn Japanese and play through the entire series

I prefer to game on a console. I would play them far more often on console than I do on PC.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Just connect a PC to a TV and plug in a SNES controller or something. Seems silly to miss out on something when you can play it functionally the same way as a console game.

Just started Trails 1. Love it so far. I've been searching for something as good as Grandia for years. Perhaps this will be it.

I HAVE these games on PC....... I'd just rather have them on a console.

SNK The 3rd Evo is for Vita, likely. I imagine this will be what XSEED would go after for a portable one. "PSP is dead... this version of the 3rd is far superior, let's go for it."

With XSEED having conquered SC already, I guess it's just a matter of time before we get The 3rd. If the pattern keeps up, this would put it in mid-2016 probably. With SC done, XSEED has gotten the hard part out of the way.

Ys VIII. Falcom has a teaser site up for it with some new screenshots here. I'm looking forward to more details about the combat, as well as finding out whether the game takes place after Ys Seven or between some of the other games in the series.

I was kind of hoping Falcom'd get back in to PC a little bit. Lord knows i'd buy it. But one person is only one.

The Cold Steel games and YS VIII really need 16xAF and some good AA.
60FPS wouldn't hurt CS either.

Offhand it looks like they're sticking to the same basic game plan as they did with 7 and Memories of Celceta, though hopefully they upgrade to a new graphics engine this time around (especially since this one's apparently making a PS4 appearance), as Celceta was pretty outdated in the visual department already.

EDIT: Cold Steel III is officially in the works, if anyone had any doubts.

Cold Steel is released. Amazon is preparing to send out my preorder on that.

I recall hearing XSEED has ceased PSP support, making SC their final release on that system. Bummer. And Wyrdwad said "So Nayuta is a definite no".

I would've liked to see Nayuta no Kiseki and Trails in the Sky the 3rd for a swan song. NnK would probably only show up here if it's ported to something else (Vita, PS4, or PC). Trails the 3rd probably would show up on PC- there are PS3 HD assets for it as well.

Dunno about 3rd Evolution on Vita which I hear is a licensing quagmire. The 3rd will probably remain PC exclusive for the West.

The only Falcom games I played through all the way were Ys 1 and 2 Chronicles+ for PC (though I bought Ys Origin and Ys Oath at Felghana recently). Would definitely recommend, though.

The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel II’s Translation Is 95% Complete

The 3rd, Zero and Ao are still at 0% :( (I'm about to finish SC, and I want more LoH with pre-rendered graphics)

Someone has been working on an unofficial translation for Zero. Guren no Heya Kara is involved.

Here is a video from the PSP version. That said, a translation hack for the PC one is also planned.

I bet they're laying off of The 3rd because it's pretty much given that XSEED will go there- if not now, sometime.

Anyone knows why Yuzo Koshiro isn't credited on the Ys I and II soundtracks?

I thought the story was that Falcom wouldn't credit him as they wanted to be the sole proprietor of the rights, and that's why Yuzo's mother made him sever ties with Falcom and he went freelance.

I see. Good decision from her, in retrospective.

Falcom fans rouuuund up!

What must be Falcom's biggest ever interview just went live this minute over on Eurogamer:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016- ... s-the-fans

To the guys here who contributed questions, thanks so much. In addition to my own stuff I used the best from each of you, so you should all see some of your queries answered by the Falcom man himself. There were only a couple that were declined in the end.

I think now that the question of Adol's sexuality has basically been settled we can call this a success!
