Re: FALCOM Thread
Ughhh..... to that ps4 release date. Tho that does give me time to finish some other Falcom stuff.
Surprised to see the ps4 version delayed to 2017. I'm guessing the two versions will have substantially different sets of assets otherwise there would be less time between the releases.

Re: FALCOM Thread
According to an excerpt from here...
A pessimist could read between the lines there and suspect that they're not planning on localizing the Vita version, but I guess we'll be waiting a while for anything concrete on that.Company president Toshihiro Kondo mentions in the magazine that the PlayStation Vita version will be released first since there are plenty of PS Vita owners that enjoy Falcom games such as Tokyo Xanadu and the Trails of Cold Steels series, so they’re looking to deliver a proper PS Vita version first. The PS4 version will be delayed to 2017 and there won’t be any additional content expected from it.
Re: FALCOM Thread
I guess they decided to go for the low hanging fruit and pour all resources into the PSV release as long as the system is still alive. Once they've seen how that version has performed they still have the option of changing plans for the PS4 version.

Re: FALCOM Thread
I still haven't played Trails FC, despite owning the PSP version since day 1 and also GOG.
My only experience with any Legend of Heroes is the PSP version of White Witch - translation issues aside, one particular sequence left a really bad impression with me.
You are on a ship, and you're supposed to find and talk to the captain. OK, so go to the captain's quarters, someone there says "Oh he's not here, I think he went to the storage room".
So you go to the storage room, captain isn't there but someone there says "Oh he's not here, I think he went to the mess hall".
I say "WTF" and go to the mess hall, captain isn't there but someone there says "Oh he's not here but I think he wanted to have a look outside at the front of the ship".
Next I say "F--- this bullshit" and go to the front of the ship, someone there says "Oh you just missed him, he went to his quarters".
I say "I'm going to kill this motherf---er" and go to the captain's quarters and FINALLY find the captain where he originally should have been and can advance the story.
Absolute bullshit running around that does jack squat to add to the story, and only serves to waste my time. I really want to like jRPGs but this kind of stuff really puts me off and it's disappointing coming from Falcom.
Does the Trails series have this kind of BS?

Re: FALCOM Thread
No, although that depends on how lenient your definition of...that is. The are some parts where you have to go from point A to point B to talk to somebody, but generally the game just skips over that stuff and puts you right there whenever it would feel to egregious.
Now go play Mars Matrix/the superior translation of FC on pc.

Re: FALCOM Thread
Is it too late to hope that they do something to improve that framerate? Nevertheless, the game looks really fun. Looking forward do it.

Re: FALCOM Thread
If there's not enough time to fix the framerate for the retail version, hopefully it will be addressed in a patch.
OTOH I'm sure the PS4 version WILL be 60 FPS. That is the one I'm really looking forward to.

Re: FALCOM Thread
Next up on PS4: an enhanced version of Tokyo Xanadu and possibly an Ark of Napishtim port somewhere down the line.

Re: FALCOM Thread
Good news. If the Vita tanks, at least we have Tokyo Xanadu eX+. The PS4 isn't going away, so I'm sure XSEED will jump on that. TX eX+ is to be full HD with 60 FPS.
Kinect? KIN NOT.
Re: FALCOM Thread
Still planning to look for one more title from Falcom. So far, I have played Popful Mail and the Ys series.
Based on this thread and searches, I could try Xanadu Next, but I wonder if there are more of the classic stuff that is really worth playing, like the ones I own

Re: FALCOM Thread
They're localizing and porting the old version of the game instead of the PS4 version with all of the enhancements and new content. That's both baffling and disappointing.
