Poland hasn't made it for over 1000 years (and counting). The Ministry of Culture just assigned funds for a Temple of Divine Providence construction. Not even uncle Stalin's henchmen bullied them too harshly in the People's Republic.

Wait wut?

What if their opinion is that you shouldn't be treated how they want to be treated?

People are angry because they are oppressed. The oppressors have no right to have a problem with the anger they themselves caused. If you don't want to anger people to what may eventually lead to radicalism maybe you could like, stop treating them like shit?
This times one-thousand. The gay community shouldn't worry about being sensitive to the precious straight-people's sensibilities.

It's ironic, the right-wingers love to label one's taking offense to their toxic hate-speech, and de-facto discrimination as "political correctness"
Yet, in the same breath demand that everything in American culture cater to their particular tastes, and attempts to dismantle anything that they find unpleasing to their weak, sheltered palette; be it something as harmless as "Happy Holidays", or (frankly, necessary) legislation intended to defer criminal violence against frequently targeted minority group (hate-crimes against gays), even going so far as to dictate civil-rights, and to decide which men less equal than other; Doing other wise would offend them and their religion.

You gotta ask yourself who's really being "Politically Correct" over here.

I'm a straight white guy who likes black girls, but I can't date them thanks to old world values that are a permanent fixture in my family. That effectively checks off half the population around these parts & makes it even harder for me to find someone I'm interested in. If I were to bring one home to meet the folks, the consequences would be severe. All of us are oppressed in some way or another, sucks.

& btw, there are some -seriously- hot black girls in my town. I've even caught my dad checking them out before, & he's the worst when it comes to this.

So to spare your dad's feelings you're announcing to the internet that he's a racist cunt?

Are you sure you're not just nervous and looking for something or someone to blame your paralysis on?
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

Anonymity dude.

I didn't say he was racist. The area of the world we live in is. I'm pretty sure he's that way due to community pressure himself. Here, if you mix races you lose lifelong friends. It's just the way it is with people who were born in the 1940's. This community is self-segregated. When whites & blacks mix, both races cause a fuss about it.

If you're gonna jeer at me for speaking freely then maybe it would be simpler for you to ignore threads of this nature.

Oh, forgot this thread was a thing, guess I've yet to post here actually

But well, some actually good news for the thread on my part, I actually finally came out as gay to my family this past weekend. They all took it quite well much to my relief, which makes me happy. Funny how I held it back from the open for so long, but it seems like everyone around me (them included) pretty well had caught on anyway

Glad to hear! Good for you, dude. I mean honestly, I'd imagine it would be pretty rough to open up about it when you live in a place with giant hand-painted signs that say OBAMA'S POND SLUDGE and hordes of old people at McDonald's with some of the most insane bumper stickers I've ever seen.

Oh for sure. I really think my mom having a close gay friend the last several years really helped to be honest. I think the reaction may have been a bit different had I come out say, during my teen years (although back then there was the issue of admitting it to myself, but that's a whole other issue), but yeah, at least with my immediate family, things were just fine

As well as Transamerica I might add. Not a music film this time, but reminds me of The Blues Brothers in a way it keeps riffing on the Hollywood cinema from the decade directly preceding its own. Like a spoof on Thelma & Louise and whatnot.
(And a lot like Hedwing and the Angry Inch, Transamerica makes for a surprisingly good family entertainment - my mom enjoyed watching both with me like few things we've been watching recently this way.)

Tangentially, take a note how those films are lit (or in Transamerica's case - heavily colour-processed; I don't know any more appropriate English word for it).

Hedwig is touring America now as well. It comes to Chicago in March. I saw it in NYC a year or so ago. It was when John Michael Cameron (the original Hedwig) was performing but he was out sick. As such, I saw Michael C. Hall, and he was great.

This was really important to my brother in law, his family isn't exactly stable. They've both had medical coverage through my brothers job since the 90's though. Some sort of insurance that covers domestic partners.

That's signature material if I've ever seen it.

Honestly his antics are a bit of a guilty pleasure for me too, but I also feel astonishingly bad for him. He is the horrific product of parental abuse through sheer neglect and denial about how severely developmentally disabled he was.

Same same. I somehow hadn't heard of him until 2014, when he burned his mom's hoarder house down making coffee in the bathroom (PROTIP: extension cord insulation is important, kids! :O ). I shoulda known better than to investigate the first comment I saw on the incident, at Neo-Geo.com! Rabbit hole! 3; ("His vibrator must've caught fire")

I still find his 2007-2011 heyday amusing, and of course, the quintessential Bad Recolour that is Sonichu. Born of tormented autism or not, G-rated inanity and hardcore sex and violence (aka "VERY HONEST CONTENT") rarely combine so unassumingly! The time-travelling odyssey of the HOMO VACCINE, deadly vendettas with mall JERKOPS out to foil our intrepid VIRGIN WITH RAGE, the endless Spinal Tap procession of tragically, bizarrely deceased girlfriends... It definitely got a bit dark (and repetitive) after his dad died and his childish life truly went to shit, though. He's autistic and unfortunate and he really, really digs Sonic. All downhill from there.

To happier times. ;-;7
