An Icycalm game, huh?
The Game Over screen will consist of an image of icy with a speech bubble saying that you are a retard subhuman who doesn't deserve to play his game, with some random curses thrown in as well.

In order to purchase the game you have to register on his forum and pay the annual subscription fee. If he bans you on the forum you lose your rights to play the game.

I hope he includes JAPJAC in the development team. FPS with Ketsui elements and lots of fingers pointing everywhere.
Of course you have to register on JAPJAP's forum as well to get the game add-ons.

From a third party perspective, seems like you guys pretty much just ganged up and badgered him incessantly, then banned him when your nonstop antagonism finally resulted in some aggression on his part. Reminded me of how we treated the kid from India back in middle school.

Yeah, my comment was pretty much based on interpreting that one thread in a vacuum. It just struck a chord with me, as the guy seemed fairly reasonable, but I suppose if you go on the offense against everyone, eventually they'll have you on the defense.

I might get caned for this, but I think he was to an extent (in that thread) even though a bit pompous. I tried to put something in different terms on page 2 or 3, and in a rather par-for-the-course move, I was accused of not understanding his point, as if he was some type of cunning linguist on a plane unattainable by myself. (Maybe I'm just an art game fag and nobody told me?). After a few more posts he took it to heart, and then the childish bullshit came in, and the ban hammer had the final word.

There really should be a book written about this community.

waaat. The thread reads like "this guy reviewed a game. It's got the typical Outsider lack of understanding, but eh what can you do. Best we could hope for. Better off to chillax and remain icy and calm about it" and Icy was all liek "I agree but also uneducated reviewers are the scum of the earth and you're all assholes for not being more pissed off" and then people were like "yeah, but what can ya do" and then he was all liek "fuck you idiots".

Christ, it's not like we're made of stone. Probably half of this forum would strongly agree you can't accurately review something you're unexperienced with (Pitfall! would be mindblowing to a caveman, but is actually rather lacking in the grand scheme of things for example), and believe the five point system is the maximum amount of points meaningfully worth using in a review. And (god help me) Icycalm was a loud voice for popularizing those concepts around these parts.

To paraphrase a quote, change never comes from the reasonable man. The reasonable man changes himself to suit the world; the unreasonable man changes the world to suit himself. Icy bred a hatred for the Nietzsche-wannabe deep into the psyche of the world, as well as solidified philosophy as a detested past time. What is a science that makes theories with no falsifiable quality to it? It's nothing more than mere assertion. With no way to measure who's less wrong, it's a circle jerk of maybes and let's-waits.

Also, Icycalm doesn't have a philosophy. He has a set repetoire of insults, and a wililngness to eat anybody that isn't him.

The greatest insult is the fact he uses errors in language as a grade for people's lack of intelligence and grounds for forum banning when he regularly struggles to string coherent sentences together that aren't plagued with questionable grammatical licence and outright fail.
