It'd be cool if his game was a sequence of rooms like the first Legend of Zelda. And in every room there's some kind of robot that punches you in the balls. You have a weapon, but like the cane in Jekyll n' Hyde it does nothing. And you can't progress to the next room until you get punched in the balls enough times.

People will scoff and call it stupid self-indulgent trash. Some will wonder "what is this narcissist shithead even trying to say?"

But then ten years will pass, and while a robot in real life is punching them in the balls for their daily quota of rations, they'll look back to his game and say "Oh." And he'll be allowed to make a smug post that's like "See? It's ART, son!" but with more slurs and demeaning pejoratives slipped in.

And he would be right to do so.

It's just the name of a video series put out by the shmup'em all guys, guides to 1CC games. I think the idea behind the name is "watch this and you'll see a 1CC is so easy a sissy could do it!" I don't think they've done any in a while, but if you search YouTube you'll find a bunch of them (as well as... other things).

But yeah, icycalm… Met the dude twice, and he was super down to earth irl. Internet persona was off the rails though. Weren’t there some rumors at some point that he crashed and died in an illegal street race in Sweden?

1-sissy is definitely not credit feed. As Mortificator said, those are real 1-CC aimed totally at survival and clearing the game, no scoring at all.
Those are done by people knowing the shmup genre and commenting their run with details on how to get through things.

They have done more than 250 of them now, linked on their Youtube channel and this page, with some pretty tought titles like Mushi Futari, Radiant Silvergun, DDP, DDP DFK, and many many more. Last one as of jan 8th 2024 is #293, Gunbird.

Those videos do not have the quality level of Plasmo's Special Demonstrations series for sure, but are very good resources when you need some help on how to get further into a game.

Yes, there was a Swedish shmup forum. I think the first version came around 2003 (called "Nose Laughin" after Battle Garegga st 1 boss) and switched to a new place and name in 2004 (called stgfan) and was quite alive and well between 2004-2010, then the inevitable death came.

But I was thinking of an international forum that sort of rivalled system11 around 2003-2004 or so. I think it was called something like InfiniteLives or InsertTheCredit or something like that. And it had some of the more well-known and respected members, but much fewer members than system11.

Icy still posts at his forum by the way, which seems open right now.
That 1-minute review thread is a pretty fun read.
For example, some member wrote slightly too long reviews and made a few grammar errors. The punishment was to buy Icy three games apparently.
It's like some innocent cult phenomenon, psychologically quite interesting.
