Shmups Forum Pet Parade

Come on then let's see your pets. This is Dante and this little shithead has been responsible for many, many deaths and ruined runs. I also have another cat called Tiger who didn't want to be in this photo apparently.

This is Fudgy, my deaf cat. He has a milk-moustache!
Since he's deaf, he isn't allowed to leave the house so he often sits by the window every day watching outdoor life.

This is Joyce. She is a bitch, just like me.

Apparently she didn't want me to turn the light on to take a picture:

I'm wondering now, are black cats the official pet of shmup fans?

They are the official pet of neurotic loners and compulsive hoarders.

...so yes, that would by default make them the official pet of shmups fans.

Yeah my apologies if this is a bit Facebook, I'm just interested in what the people of this forum are like outside of enjoying shmups ;)

SuperSoaker360: you may want to buy a cat leash, so that Fudgy can enjoy outdoors life to an extent, too.

I'd love to take Dactyl outside - and everywhere with me. The white one can fuck off.

"Is it okay to let kitty out?" is kind of a hot topic. Banned in New Zealand?

My full menagerie. All four pets.

Image

Wilbur is an incredibly friendly asshole. Meows all the damn time. Lots of personality.

Daisy is a scaredy cat. She once ran into a wall because she saw her own shadow and had to bolt.

Pullo is a big, dumb lummox. Breaks lots of things around the house, tore down curtains, broke my laptop and my girlfriend's laptop. But he is cute and his jowls flap majestically in the wind when his head hangs out the window. So it's not all bad with him.

Emily is sitting behind me and is rather bemused at being called a pet. :)

I think your animals are possessed, dude. Might want to look in on hiring a pet exorcist.

I'm pretty sure cats are just demonic hell-spawn from birth. No possession required. At least that's what Wilbur makes me think. He spent a good portion of tonight just harassing the dog for his own amusement.

My cat, Yoyo, has featured in some of my videos on my blog.

Here's one she has all to herself. She also made appearances in my "Old Computer" video and my review of One Bad Apple.

EDIT: Most recent Yoyo video, and example of why she is BEST KITTY

Milano, a lucky dog.

Image

The Story Of Milano: he's my family's, really. We think he was beaten as a puppy. He was terrified of my dad at first, would hide from him under anything he could (to my dad's bemusement - he's one of the gentlest people you could meet). Real damage case. It was actually my dad who insisted we give him some time rather than send him back to the animal shelter and whatever awaited him. Twelve years later he's very fond of us, but you can tell he'll always be very timid. If he's barking at dogs/cars passing the house a "shh" silences him instantly. I only go home about once a year now, but he always remembers me. That pic is a few years old, he has some striking grey eyebrows now.

This is kind of an old photo, and technically they're my parent's dogs and not mine, but this is Imola and Minardi. I'm not really in a position to have any pets right now (too expensive in the building I'm living in) so I just go and visit these two and occasionally dogsit for them. They're very friendly, very loyal... and very loud. They're also not exactly the most well behaved dogs in the world either.

I expected more niche pets from this crowd.

Seriously, I figured I was opening this to see snakes, other reptiles, salt water fish tanks, and maybe some hermit crabs with shells painted to look like loli schoolgirls.

My dog Lion. He is a Chow Chow/Samoyed mix. He is about 11 years old; we adopted him in 2003 after he was found wandering around Edwards Air Force Base. He doesn't look like that anymore, we got his fur shaved recently.

Our bunny Pachi. Namned after Dodonpachi off course. I wanted to name him Yagawa at first, but the GF protested.
