What emulator will Solvalou run on??....

Post by dave4shmups »

I am NOT asking for roms, I'd just really like to know which emulator this game will run on. It certainly doesn't run on any version of MAME I've ever tried. I'd really like to play it too, and emualtion is probably the only chance I'll ever get.

It has been playable since MAME 0.63, IIRC.

The graphical emulation isn't 100% accurate however, and you need a pretty good system to get a smooth framerate,

If you have a Flight sim stick, it'll work great on it...the next best thing would be using your mouse for movement, and whichever keys you want for your main shot and bomb.

EDIT: On 0.90, not only does it not work, it crashes MAME. WHEE

So it would run on MAME32, then? I just like MAME 32 due to its ultra user friendly interface.

I wonder how my P220 D-pad would work with it. Well, thanks for the info guys! While I'm at it, I'll have to give Solar Assault a go.

yes, it'll work on mame 32. or at least, it works on mame 32 on my computer, so if it doesn't on yours, there's something wrong :)

OK, when I try to run this game, it does the ram/rom checks, but says "NG-Polygon Board" in red, and then that dissapears and the game never loads. :?

If it's based on PSX hardware, which I think it is, then Zinc should run it.

Thanks Vek, I'll give 'er a go in MAME 0.71

Great, it works!! :D Now, how do I add mouse support in this version of Mame? I'm just used to Mame32 menus where you just access the default settings, I don't know how to do that on any other version of Mame.

No, it's earlier than that.
