American conservativism consists of making "in" groups and "out" groups and punishing the "out" groups. That is the core policy that defines all else. Trump ran on the petty bitterness of hurting democrats, mexicans... anyone the core base didn't like. Conservatives all knew he was going to be a shit show and hurt everyone, but the enticing part is that he was going to target those "out" groups and hurt them more.

Affability shouldn't get so much of a free pass. So what if the man has a higher Charisma stat on his character sheet or appeals to your particular vibe more?
