A true legend. His legacy is already apparent. I was a C64 man myself but many, many of my friends and family have Spectrums and learned to program there for the very first time. A pioneering spirit.

Cheers and rest in peace, Clive.

Jean-Paul Belmondo, who died this month at 88, was the reputed and likely eponym for the Castlevania/Akumajō Dracula Belmondo/Belmont clan. With full respect for French cinema, I rarely make time for it... but thought this should be noted here.

An immense body of work there... I toy sometimes with reading the OG mangas, or learning to, dohoho.

Definitely. Not my area of expertise either, but at least it sounds like he had a good run.

I've actually read a few of the Golgo 13 mangas -- first 2 or 3 books or so. It's... volumunous. Quite the Everest.

It’s amazing how long Golgo 13 and Berserk have gone. And now they’re outliving their creators.

Swedish artist Lars Vilks died yesterday in a traffic collision at age 75, along with two police officers traveling in the same car for his protection. Vilks had been on the hit list of certain radical islamist groups after some caricatures of Muhammad. But nothing has indicated any foul play was involved in his death, it seems to just have been a tragic accident.

RIP. There are tons of series with a character who's supposed to be the world's greatest assassin. I never believe them, though, because I've seen Golgo 13.

Founder and previous admin of SomethingAwful, Rich "Lowtax" Kyanka, has reportedly passed away. I don't have any more details yet, just woke up to the news.

Edit: It turns out to have been suicide.

Normally we expect it to happen more often among teens and those in their twenties; those predisposed to doing it usually do it sooner than later. Things just hit harder when they're fresh and new to you. Some forty something with a lot of money and no terminal illness would fall into the lower risk bracket.

It seems like he did it an hour after a settlement with an ex (who he abused) awarded her money. Well.

Let's remember that time he boxed Uwe Boll. Tip: don't fight people if you don't lift.

holy mackerel, that's a lot of context!

well, that's always sad if people are that far gone. i suppose it's sickness and that's awful, seeing people's lives destroyed like that.

Yeah even if he's done terrible things to others, I'm going out on a limp and assuming it's been a product of him having mental issues as it is.
I'd obviously much rather see a person recover, improve their life, and repent for their past, than end it in such a horribly way. And now said ex, who already has a lot to deal with, will probably also end up feeling "guilt" over a pointless action such as this. :(

Yeah, losing both Robin William and Keith Flint this way was a big shock for me...
