Really good article in the Dallas News. He was one of those rare stars who transcended mere fame. Although, not so rare in those dangerous times, I suppose. Always liked Saget. I remember him best for Full House because that was when I was in middle school and I was pretty much the target demographic. I understand that his stand-up was particularly raunchy and dark, but I don't recall ever seeing any (though that was a long time ago).

Absolutely. Budgie is a missing-link band. As heavy as it gets, and progressive funk inspired, but also minimalist. I can hear the steps between them and technical thrash.

From that site, I see Bob Wall has died at 82. Probably best known as O'Hara, the midboss goon Bruce Lee owns in Enter The Dragon, but he had a ton of other important work in martial arts and MA cinema.



Like most of Dragon's cast, he enjoys distinguished beltscroller cred via Double Dragon, which blagged most of its characters' names from there. (O'Hara's the flat-topped midboss who replaced Abobo in the arcade DD2, again towering over the protagonist Lee).

Always a face I remember - my best friend's dad knew him personally via his work in youth martial arts, mentioned they'd shot Dragon to make Wall look a lot taller and midbossier than he really was. Was supposedly quite a short dude IRL. (then again buddy's old man is still like 6'10 in his eighties, haha)

EDIT: Aaand I fucked that riveting anecdote right up, it was Bolo Yeung (5'6) he was talking about WRT camera tricks. Wall was quite a bit taller than Lee (5'7), at 6'1.

Visual fix super Douglas Trumbull died several days ago Most notable work is Blade Runner, and 2001. Apparently, a lot of the work Kubrick got credit for (erroneously?) was Trumbull’s work e.g., cockpit of ship, rotating hallway, other shit I can’t remember. This guys resume was nothing short of stellar.
