Not necessarily. That's not his original form.

He probably can't show his real stuff anymore because of the popular Dr. Manhattan dildo.

The Mandalorian episode 6. One if the best so far. Bill Burr, Clancy Brown and Richard Ayoade were all great. Burr had some proper funny lines, shit.

3 1/2 episodes of Happy!

What if we made a Crank movie with none of the action scenes?

That's a terrible idea!

Did you fail to notice on the way inside we renamed the channel from Sci Fi to Syfy?

Fair enough. Let's greenlight it!

Expanse Season 4 is great so far. The budget still seems pretty low, but who cares, it's so much fun.

Never got past the first few episodes of the Expanse. Heard it got better. I actually like Thomas Jane.

Finished off Watchmen. Nothing's gonna top that for a while I'm sure.

It starts slow, the first season builds the basis for the plot, but yeah it gets pretty damn better!

Unlike most of the 'netflix plot' (succeeding the 'Hollyoowd template script') stuff we see everywhere these days (and am tired of), it's not something expanded over a single paragraph then 80% of the show is mix of 'fake cryptic-buildup mostly actually filler material'.
Nope, the Expanse is fully written and assumes its ambition of being a space adventure saga, for me it's the real deal, certainly the best of the kind I've seen so far this century, and one the best TV series period.

It's not perfect but definitely a class beyond the average mass-produced fllth. Hell, when everyone was about GoT I was watching the Expanse and couldn't believe how massively superior it is and deserves the top spot.

Welp, in my eyes the production values have been good-to-excellent so far, just look back at most of the other sci-fi stuff since 2000, and this one is overwhelmingly superior in that aspect.

I'll finish it tonight but I have been pissed at the disastrous writing until ep 8 which was the first to have my attention and not make me sigh.
Pretty disappointed overall so I expect at least a good first season finale.

That one continues to be pleasing indeed, by keeping it simple they managed to not ruin it, which is a feat these days.

I personally liked every moment of it, but the last few episodes are definitely the Best Shit.

Agreed, they're not bad at all, but they do rely on a lot of small(ish) sets, often with lots of corridors etc interspersed with the CG. That makes sense for the setting of course, but the production design of the sci-fi interiors still feels a bit sparse compared to a high budget film... probably about on par with something like Galactica, which is to say not bad at all. I actually like that feeling since it reminds me I'm watching a TV show. As epic as the story's scope is, it has an episodic feel that a lot of shows have moved away from; not necessarily but they lose something of their essential 'TV-ness.' The TV feeling is something that I find to be quite fun.

edit-oh and GP, I second the notion that it takes a while to get into, but once you become acquainted with the characters you start to absolutely love them. Some of the best and most unique characterization for a genre show IMO.

Honestly I've seen space spations, giant cathedral-ship, colonized asteroids, Mars, space battles, and much, much more like
Spoiler: show
said cathedral ship ramming asteroid colony, interplanetary nuke missiles attack, titanic abnormal catastrophe on Venus, horrific disaster on Ganymede, gigantic artificial singularity-portals, and now new planets, etc

I mean you make it sound a bit like it's cramped, but to me it shows exactly the opposite, presenting very well the scale of the action's setting (the Solar system) and the enormity of the events.

So I'm surprised because it's kind of like we didn't watch the same show.
If it's the CGI that's bothering you, well personally I don't mind it is good enough and following the action within episodes it blends very well with the live sets which I don't find bad (again compare the latter with older shows and...well the Expanse does not so bad after all!)
It's definitely not Babylon 5 -tier CGI.
In fact I'm glad they do shove a lot of that CGI to render the 'world', because it's pretty much every older style TV sci-fi that were essentially soaps re-using the assets literally in all but a couple episodes per season.
Galactica introduced more variety than average but not that grand.
So, CGI expands...the Expanse a lot IMHO (couldn't find a different choice of words sorry)

The way I see it the show has now made its way to the top 10s of many lists, in a few years it'll be up there with whatever Trek, Galactica and the usuals there like Stargate etc.
If season 4's the same quality as what we've seen so far, then it will end up within the top 3 on most lists and become a reference.

All in the Family is on tonight and I for one am looking forward to it. Thought they did a great job the first time and was hoping they would do it again. Twice a year is perfect.

I'm referring mostly to the interiors. I hope my words don't come off as negative, because I love the show, just trying to be descriptive. I guess the production design would be a good example for me. Although certain elements are done very well, some of the tech design on the ships is just a bit hokey, particularly on the Belter ships where there seem to be a lot of random glowing tubes and stuff strewn around for no reason (although I'm sure the intent is to show the jury-rigged, improvised repair nature of those ships).

A big budget show or movie would probably have toned this stuff down a little to make the environment feel less like a set. It's a bit dissonant in a show that has so much hard SF in it—I want every piece of equipment on every ship to have a specific function. This is a super minor complaint and not something that pulls me out of the show at all but I think worth noting nonetheless.

Pretty good stuff. They definitely caught the feel of the TV shows of bygone days.

I'm not sure what to make of it. There are too many off screen characters being talked about to the point where i'm losing the ability to understand half of what they are talking about.

The Mandalorian s01e01 Good fun. Strong sense of place, a fine Man With No Name tribute act from the excellent Pedro Pascal and some punchy Wild Guns action kept me happy. Will stick around.

I'm enjoying it right now because I'm a fan of the games but I don't know how on Earth someone who hasn't already played the games could follow this shit. Besides a vague notion of Geralt being a "mutant" there is no explanation of what he is, and how could you expect someone to know what the hell's going on the first time he lets loose with an Aard sign?

Ya, I'm at 4 episodes right now and it's been consistently fun. My SW standards are soooo low now so I've been surprised that I haven't been rolling my eyes and actually engrossed in this. It's kind of what I've always wanted; as in I just want a tail in the world--not a goddamn world-ending Jedi/Sith infatuation. If I never see a lightsaber again I'm content!

Mandalorian is good, I kinda wish the character didn't have a helmet all of the time and the theme from episode to episode is repetitive.

But the best thing about it is its simplicity, the battles are pretty good and the lore of the Mandalorian is interesting. I cannot "Not" see Apollo Creed and expect "living in America" to boom out any second.

But apart from that its hitting the right notes.

Pretty mixed bag for us. My wife knows absolutely nothing of the Witcher universe, and I only know The Witcher 3 video game so it was like the nearly-blind leading the blind going through this first season. The tone was all over the place and I was getting '90s Xena and Hercules flashbacks that did not make me feel good. We somehow didn't come away hating it, though. I think it got kinda better by the end and the last couple of episodes were a bit more tonally consistent from beginning to end (probably because Jaskier was not around) and the bizarro timeline inconsistencies had all been resolved. If they do a little bit of soul searching, I actually think this show could become pretty good in coming seasons.

I really recommend the first two games.

The show imo leaned too hard on expecting that viewers were very familiar with the source material. Other than that I thought the show was mostly good.

Just finished the last episode of The Mandalorian. Pretty good ending, not one of the best episodes - lacked a bit of energy, and some of the characters actions are a bit convenient for the plot, but it was great. Good set up for next season.

All the episodes have been really good apart from episode 4 (from what I remember, the one Bryce Dallas Howard directed ). It was too generic and a bit soppy, though it did have a couple of cool moments. Other than that it's been consistently great, loved the "adventure of the week" style episodes as it's just fun to spend time in this era of Star Wars.

Faverau just tweeted season 2 out fall 2020 with a pic of a Gamorrean guard. Ace.

Even as a casual SW viewer, I can imagine the creeping dread watching this thing just waiting for it to go to hell. Just finished episode 2, this is pretty special. Reminded me of The Dark Crystal, real sense of seeing places and things far removed from Earth. Just a pleasure watching that Sandcrawler trundle along, with the Jawas cackling at poor Mando banging his head on the ceiling.

Liked the parallel with Mando & Baby vs enraged mother alien, an uncompromising world. Really like that they've captured an important part of Clint's MwNN mystique - he gets the shit beaten out of him and has to claw his way back up via wiles, toughness and the odd bit of plain luck. Guts rather than Kenshiro.
