OK, we got two album covers threads happenin' here.

How about we have one for your favorite album covers. Good albums, bad albums...whatever. What do you think are some awesome covers? I shall start with some of mine:

That Bowie cover is one of my favourite covers ever.

I also love the Bauhaus cover from the previous post - great album too.

That Quicksilver one is pretty interesting.

And yeah, In The Flat Field is a good album. I like the one with the extra cuts like Dark Entries, Telegram Sam, and Crowds.

The use of color on Low's cover is pretty stunning.

Colour is tricky to recreate in print as the artists intended and many covers are failure because of that. "Electric Ladyland" cover (not safe for work), for instance, was originally meant to have a gentle pink tint.
These deserve an honourable mention:

I've been creating a few album covers and can confirm that especially red'ish colors are definitely difficult to get right on print, yup!

I could list basically every Roger Dean thing ever, but I'll just leave it at one simple (but beautiful) and one complex, magnificent cover.

That Violent Femmes cover is quite beautiful.

I almost posted Closer in my original post.

You know, it always peeved me that Walk Among Us doesn't take up the full space. Why is it, like a stamp?

Here's a few more:

Totally forgot about the Black Sabbath cover. It's awesome.

And I have never heard of "Fleet Foxes", but they have some pretty good covers.

Well I like it! It's pushing an image as much as that T. Rex cover. But sometimes I like that. Trying to go iconic.

I apologize beforehand if this post makes me come off as really gloomy, but these types of bands just happen to have the best covers
Also, a few of these are definitely NSFW.

The "Walk Among Us" LP is the full picture. I never understood wtf was going on with the CD either.
As far as I'm concerned, it's one of the greatest Punk album ever. It all sounds the same and that's exactly how it's suppose to be.
Glenn is a full fledged entrepreneur. Created his t-shirts, pressed his EP's, ran the fiend club out of a fucking basement.
He traded the name "Blank Records" (I think) for studio time to record "Walk Among Us" on the now dead "Ruby" label.

Same reason I posted "London Calling" instead of Presley's ST album. This isn't a "that band is shit" thread; read the title. I own a 1st pressing copy of 7 on a 12, post the original next time.

I bought the vinyl release for the cover alone. The music is nice (if you dig noise), but the cover is worth at least half the price (which was cheap anyway).

(Funny how Albino didn't want to be pals with them anymore after Down and guess what? Shot turned out to be pretty much their best album to date.)
