Games you'd like to see on SNK Classics Collection....

Post by dave4shmups »

IGN have been mentioning this game in the PS2 release dates section of their site for over a year now. I certainly hope SNK actually does this, and if they do, here's the games I'd like to see on it:

Ikari Warriors
Alpha Mission
Guerilla War
Prehistoric Isle

That's all I can think of for now.

Would they technically have any rights to Pulstar or Blazing Star? Those would be nice to see...at least better than something like Last Resort or some such mediocre title.

Good question. Even if they do,"Classics Collection" seems to suggest that they'd put mostly '80s stuff on there-not that Pulstar and Blazing Star aren't classics, though.

I'd pay $50 for Magician Lord and The Super Spy alone.

I'd pay $65 for a PS2 double pack of Pulstar and Blazing Star alone.

But since that ain't gonna happen, I'll settle for arcade-perfect ports of Ikari I and II with dual analog support. Everything else would be gravy.

I'll pray for this one, + Iron Tank.

Maybe it's time for a Neo Geo comp to come out for a home system?
All those old Neo Geo games have a pretty classic feel.

It is absurd that shodown 1&2 are pretty much unavailable short of a wildly rare psx port and the version of shodown 1 for 3DO.

Super Spy was awesome!

i would love to be able to play Ikari 1 & 2 with dual analog as was suggested. alpha mission, blazing star, pulstar, magician lord, prehistoric isle, and others

and Cyvern (crosses fingers). purely a joke, but man would i eat my shoes if this got release on console.

Well shoot, this collection is still listed as "TBA 2005"-which is where Xyanide is located in IGN's XBOX release schedule. Meaning it may never see the light of day. :(

There's a PC Samurai Shodown II, which is a NeoGeo CD port (I own it). Samurai Shodown 1 has versions on the Genesis, SNES, Game Gear, and even the b/w GB. I own the GB, SNES, and Genesis versions. IMO, the Genesis version is the best one, but the GB one is excellent too.

The SNK Classics Collection was rumored years ago in 03 I believe; people speculated that SNK would release early classics like Magician Lord, Ikari Warriors, etc. for peanuts on the PS1.

Unfortunately it never happened, and ign just left it there...GameSpot had a release date for Darius R back in December, but as we know that's not happening either.

Aside from the fact that Darius R did get released. Here, $48.90

Good list and real classics. Never played any of them, though .

:?: . LR is a very nice game, not tops, but far from mediocre. I liked Pulstar when I received it, but after playing Pulstar awhile I had to admit Last Resort has given me more fun. I like the apocaplytical touch :).

For myself, I would like to see Shock Troopers 2 released without slowdowns. Although this one would not fit into a 'classic' collection. Sadly it will never happen.

Um... that's the 2 year old Japanese release, not the phantom NA release that some site (I thought it was IGN, actually) had listed for last December at one point.

I thought LoneSage was under the impression that neither the SNK Collection or Darius R never got released anywhere, so I posted accordingly. My mistake then, if he was talking only about NA releases.

Besides, it's a GBA game with zero japanese, there's not an easier game to import.

Yeah, I was talking about the NA release by GameSpot. Darius R's awful (and it was my first import), but hell I'd prolly still buy it just to support the industry..
