I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, or if it is a bug, but if I click on someone profile and use the "search this user's posts" button, I get zero results. I hope this gets fixed because it was a truly crucial search tool.

You have to go back and click it again. It works the second time around.

Definitely a bug.

Yeah the search is doing that a lot - I don't know why, I'll probably have to post to the PHPBB forum and hope someone replies for once.

The auto marking everything as read thing - doesn't look like PHPBB3 has it, which is a shame. There's an existing mod request on the forum but nobody has done it yet. I wonder how the old one used to do it.

It'd be worrying, wouldn't it?

In response to bloodflowers' above response about the "auto marking everything as read" thing: I would like a specific checkbox for this, as I like this feature.

Is there any way for the e-mail notification message to properly list the thread topic in the subject line instead of a mess of numbers & letters (like how it was with the old shmup.org site)?

no way to increase the inbox?

maybe only to users whom spcifically ask for it to keep the DB small? i use the message system alot and auto-trashing the 101th message has put me on the spot quite a few times.. being able to keep 200 or maybe even 500 messages would be great!

I like manual marking of unread topics, as logging back in or coming back to the Forum after a while are times when I'd like to keep my settings on what's unread, so agree w/lgb, if possible.

Also whump, export your messages as CSV or whatever to free up ur inbox

It no longer auto-trashes, instead you get told there's a pending message you need to clear space to receive.

Why not just add a new folder to your "private messages" and opt to forward any pm's exceeding your set limit to that new folder instead of being blocked/deleting something else.
Seems like unlimited "parking" place for messages. just name it "Inbox 2"or something.

I like these new options. :)

Hey guys, I upgraded my location.

Image

I've removed it, but seriously, you might want to put a character limit on the location part.

Toward the bottom of the memberlist page, the current page number and ellipsis are displayed in black. Could these be made white instead?

I also notice some of the field labels along the top (i.e. Username / Joined / Posts etc.) are an unreadable orange or something - and the Rank field shows up as empty.

<- Hideous spammer btw. :O

I don't know if this is a bug or a feature, but it may be interesting to note: The minimum size of text that actually renders something to the screen (unreadable but definitely there) is size=5. You can select smaller text sizes, and it'll save, but nothing shows up (at least not at my resolution, 1600x1200.

Example:

andhere'sthewasabi
andhere'sthewasabi
andhere'sthewasabi
andhere'sthewasabi (default "tiny" text size)

Text smaller than 5 seems to create aandhere'sthewasabiandhere'sthewasabiandhere'sthewasabiandhere'sthewasabispaceandhere'sthewasabiandhere'sthewasabiandhere'sthewasabiandhere'sthewasabibetween words.

I'm running at 1200x1600 and I can see all of the text in your post (albeit unreadably tiny).

Running Opera 9.54 on Windows XP SP3.

Must be because you're running your monitor vertical ;)

Firefox 3.51 and WinXP SP3 here. So it's an issue with how Firefox renders text, apparently. Is that how they got the browser twice as fast as 3.0? Won't be using this browser to view any legal contracts then.

Now there is no way to check if you ignored something in the past. you have to kind of guestimate it. I bet that since the new style few people have checked in fewer times because of this.

Nope, it's there for a reason.

How about removing the ability to post just by quoting someone? Doesn't add anything to the discussion.

Oh and if you quote someone with a link you can't see that it's actually a link.

Actually that's to prevent it from crashing browsers and stretching the tables of the forum.

Why would you want to encourage something which degrades the forum? I can think of things which are less irritating than a string of empty quotes, but this means someone can do it endlessly. Point is, it's annoying. Most other places wouldn't tolerate that sort of thing. I don't see why here is any different.

Since I suck and can't read through 5 pages, did anyone mention the avatar stretching?

EDIT: I had Firefox zoomed in for some reason.
