Sin & Punishment 2

Post by crithit5000 »

Apparently. It'll probably end up some lame Wii waggle gayfest though, and not the might that is the first game.

What crithit5000 has learned thus far since posting this:
  • The words waggle and gayfest are bad seperately, and should never, ever be uttered together unless you want to face the wrath of...random internet folks.
  • Go-go boots make for really bad walking animation (virtual constipation?)
  • There's a really big fucking chicken in Sin & Punishment 2. That's right, Treasure is trying to say they have huge cocks.

Now now, I can see the wiimote being useful for a Sin and Punishment sequel, what with you having to aim a reticule and all... that's one of the things a pointing device is really good for. The original was one of my favourite Wii downloads, so this is pretty rad.

I just liked the original N64's controls so well, though.

Sin and Punishment is the best 64 game hands down.
I'm excited about this, but indeed it might end up as a
lame Wii waggle gayfest

So let's wait and see how this turns out.

Considering the fact that treasure DIDN'T turn Bangai O Spirits into a touch controlled "gayfest" I really don't think so.
Awesome news, btw :D

Nice screens, more please :D
Btw, the bottom right corner on the third screen looks very "ikarugish" (same font, wall texture seems very similar to some of the builing textures in Ika). Maybe they're using the gamecube Ika engine.
Very promising title. Seems like the Wii will finally get some sweet stuff during 2009...in Japan at least.

I am so excited about this. S&P is my favorite N64 game and I kept thinking while playing it on the VC that it would be so much better with Wii pointer controls. As long as Treasure is making it I'm 100% sure it will be AMAZING.

Everyone these days is comparing Wii graphics to 360/PS3 graphics so they end up getting downgraded even more, to PS3 level.

No comment on the game here as the series doesn't interest. Mischief Makers 2 please.

With moar bloom of course, you can never forget the bloom.

Otherwise, +1 to the WANT camp.

Nice!
Graphics could have been sharper but its the gameplay that counts.

Graphics kinda has that distinct treasure sheen, doesn't it?

If by "sheen" you mean "random generic segmented steel plate motif over everything," then yes. There's also very few reflective surfaces in those screenshots.

The graphics do have that metally Gradius V/Ikaruga feel (with bloom), the game looks good though, white girly boots and all.

I don't see bloom either. Fog, sprite clouds, pinpoint and blur light beams, sure.

The graphics look fine to me. They look about the same quality as a Gamecube game (so basically it's really fitting for the Wii). But Sin and Punishment was never really about graphics.

Awesome news. This is exactly the kind of thing the Wii was made for. I had a feeling Treasure might do this sooner or later.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Although when it came out on the 64 it looked amazing, even without utilising the expansion pak.

This looks like great fun, I'm surprised by how much is on the video. They kept this under wraps pretty well.

Whoa!

First I was stoked (S&P sequel!!!).
Then I was pissed (wtf, now I gotta buy a Wii?!?)

after watching the trailer...
I'll wait and see.

wtf is up with the floating character?!!
no jet pack even, just floating around the screen almost Space Harrier style.
Half the gameplay in Sin & Punishment was that the character was anchored to the ground and you had to jump over obstacles and strafe or roll left or right to make evasive moves.

That floating around the play area shit looks queer. [/not impressed]

ZOMG.... your character floats like space harrier!!!! NOOOOOOO IT MUST SUCK!!!

NOT....

I'm quite excited after seeing that video... good to see treasure making a big boy game again and not another handheld game.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
