Looking good! I seem to see a lot of harrowingly stained-up Rockmen 1 & 2... CIB FC stuff is scarce to begin with of course, but typically I can at least find stuff in decent nick, if by no means at sane prices. SMB3 seems to appear in significantly abused nick more often than not too, and it's obviously no rarity. I waited ages for a nice Highway Star and that one goes for peanuts too.

I've got a few price-tagged FC/SFC boxes I've just left as-is, most notable probably Bio Metal. Wasn't confident I could remove 'em without committing a game collector war crime. TBH I don't mind them, or a distinguished bit of edge wear, but not stains man. Those creep me out. Used =/= Abused!
I’m somewhat picky with condition, but for a game as widespread as Rockman, it took me forever to find a copy without any major rips and stains that wasn’t listed with an insanely high BIN price.

I was pretty confident that I could get the price sticker off, but it had probably been on there for 25-30 years, so I’m happy it came off so cleanly.

I have a the ones of Twinbee and Goemon. Glad the JP releases aren't a standard GBA box with NES style art like the US ones. NoA missed the point with both pricing and packaging.

That is probably the most avant garde post I've ever seen. No idea what it means, words or picture.

A full $280. However, I didn't have to pay customs fee or import taxes, so ultimately it turned out to be a lot cheaper than I had expected.

Got vinyls of The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and Django Reinhardt's "Nuages". I'm quite pleased with both. :P

Video chip was replaced with a better one. So I just want to grab Midi-Pac 2 and MegaFlashRom and I'm good to go.

Yeah I'd be crazy to not get MegaFlashRom.

The worst part is shipping from Japan. These things are heavy and international shipping keeps going up. I paid as much for shipping as I did the unit itself.

It was on sale for $36~ a few weeks back. It went out of print last time, so I wouldn't wait too long.

Just had to share these bad boys. Usually get tons of cool things but these are by far my most satisfying purchases in a long time. :D

Sony WEGA KV-27FS120
I'm in love with this tube! Barely any geometry issues and the picture is crystal clear especially when using the edge enhancement features... its soo sharp!
Love it!

Sony WEGA KV-34XS955
A bit of mixed feelings on this Tube but overall for what I paid it was an awesome purchase.
Colors are very nice with this HDTV but edges are quit soft.
Other than that this thing on all resolution only has 3ms average of input lag!
AMAZING!

Image

Sony WEGA KV-24FS100
Slight geometry issues but still holds a very nice picture.
This thing is crystal clear when playing 240p content
Can't complain as it was FREE

Image

I've been eating up CRTs during this time and I couldn't help pass up this tiny gem.
I was blown away by how colorful the pictures were on this monitor.
Compared to my other CRT monitors at home I was not expecting to have it look so nice.
Very surprised and worth the tiny amount of money and gas to get it

Image

At first I thought the colors were off on this monitor. Wasn't a big deal considering I paid about 15$ for it at a thrift store. Had a slight tint to the picture but when I connected my Xbox 360 to it via OSSC everything looked perfect!

Image

I've been itching to get into the PVM/BVM scene for a while but due to them being so scarce around here and the crazy prices they are fetching online not to mention a risky investment... I had to find an alternative to scratch that itch.
The recent pick ups here will hold me over for a bit.

The Compaq and HP monitors compared to my Samsung and KDS are much more colorful and brighter. I know the Samsung monitors are Shadow Mask but I can't tell if any of the two monitors I picked up are an Aperture Grille or not.

So far I'm satisfied with what I have at the moment but I can't help wonder how good a PVM/BVM would compare to any of these tubes I just got. I use to own an old Security monitor that accepted composite video and till this day it still one of the best monitors I've ever seen!

The problem with picking them up is making room for all of them lol. At the moment I have them scattered all around my basement. Wife is complaining every time she goes down to do laundry lol.

The Sony WEGA 34inch HD Tube was the worst of the bunch... I needed at least three days to recover from hauling it down the stairs.

I have to say though I'm having a great time just testing and comparing all of them.

Yeah lol. I got rid of a couple of those HD CRT beasts due to space not that long ago. Just donated them. It was actually hard to find a place that would take them actually.

I have a similar tv (maybe identical I don't remember for sure) to the first one you listed and it rocks. Only problem with mine is that it has some overscan issues on the left side. I went into the service menu and fixed it as best I could but it's still missing some picture there. It's not too noticeable in most applications. I wasn't even all that aware of it until I was checking the liner notes on an anime dvd and the text was cut off.

I have pvms and I will say you aren't missing much especially compared to nice VGA CRT monitors. I have a junky pack-in compaq monitor like the one you picked up and it looks great with old games. I've never been a huge scanline guy though.

I wish thrift stores would even take in old PC monitors. Based on when I was calling around about donating tvs I doubt most do. So they probably end up getting junked. :( They are small enough that I would hoard a few more of them. XD
