Some recent gets

Extron 201 RXI (PS2 sync on green sooon)

For which of the four platforms?
PS 2.
You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

Official Sony component cable - wait for it - $7. This is why I love my lgs.

I picked up the PS2 version of Coast 2 Coast

Which version did you get?
Update: got the answer lol

I picked up a pair of official component cables as well for 20$ CAD here
I just needed to drive for 40 mins to get it

Dope. I have loved Outrun for a really long time. I played the SMS version to death.

At the time I was unaware of Coast 2 Coast, but picked up Online Arcade the minute it came out.

When I learned of C2C I did some digging and knew I had to have it.

I have it with Sega Ages too. That version gets some flack, but imo other than the car being a bit too big most of it is undeserved.

It still plays well. I leave it at mom's so I have Outrun there if I get the itch.

Outrun is awesome. I have an arcade racer coming in called Gale Racer. Looked pretty cool, and was dirt cheap.

Traded some PS1 imports with a friend but for trade value purposes we put it at 80.

It's a really cool game, I can't get enough of it.

It's pretty polished for a licensed game. For how good it is, it's actually still fairly reasonably costed at around $30. I played it for about half an hour last night and plan to dig into it more when I'm done with Hebereke.

The "Pizza Cats" game is pretty awesome, and you can tell it's well made (Tecmo knew their shit), but hampered by being painfully easy. You can pretty much just brute force your way through the game and never die.

I've always been a fan of the anime

Would love to give it a shot

I'm all for painfully easy and short games as I barely have time to game these days

Unfortunately the game only fulfills one of these criteria, as it takes about an hour to go through. And yes, it's really, really easy. I 1CCed it the first time I played it, and only lost a few lives at the last or second-to-last stage.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Sums up my experience as well. I don't remember it being that long, though. Some stages can be a bit labyrinthic I guess.

Game looks well done indeed. Love the graphics. Was watching a complete play through and it does look way too easy. Maybe a bump in difficulty wouldn't hurt.

Hey guys what's going on?

https://imgur.com/a/3hwFUuG

Picked this stuff up off a cool old guy. He got it straight from the station when they got rid of it. It was a sattelite location of the KC CBS affiliate where they filmed local commercials. If you like old broadcast gear, tiny pvms etc, these pics are basically porn.

Cool haul of Sony broadcast gear Boss! I would have enjoyed picking that up too, love old Sony AV jawns
And a quality Equalizer is a very handy thing to have.

How do you like the little Panasonic crts? what input do they take? I bet they're still sharp even over composite

They are cute. Composite only, black and white, 4''. Powered by the rack they are in (appear to be hardwired to it). So I won't use them much if ever.

The Betacam SP quality is surprisingly good over component. But I mean it's limited to Betacam SP tapes. I do have a bunch of new tape stock if I ever wanted to fool with it more.

Not sure how identifiable some of this stuff is. Below the EQs is a Kramer DA, a Sony DXC-755 Camera Control unit (has the title generator too, not pictured) and a Panasonic AG-W1 VCR that will play VHS tapes from any region. And the really crazy looking thing is a Sony video editing system.

It was only $100 for everything, so really just too cool to pass up. This is the second piece of local history I have bought this year. With the Karaoke LD stuff awhile back being the first KC area Karaoke bar.

Nice. This is what makes it extra special

As for videotape playback, I have 2 Sony SVO-1620 professional decks(thanks again Fudoh for reccomending the Sony pro VHS decks). They are damn nice, but the SVO-1610 I had before(and that broke) was even better. I have a neat little collection of anime on VHS that I watch on crt every now and then.

Not sure I've never witnessed original Betacam footage with my own eyes, but maybe. Had a couple filming-savy people in my family so maybe they used that. As for my first year of college, I think mini-DV was affordable by that point and that's what people used.

Definitely. I've already watched some old local commercials. Really brings me back in time in a way. Some of these places are no longer in business.

I had some SVO decks but got rid of them. Kind of regret it. But I do have a couple SVHS decks and the JVC one I have has nutter butters auto tracking. I'm going to run a cleaning tape through this Panasonic and see how it looks after that. It's got a ton of control options.

This is BetacamSP specifically. It's definitely better than VHS/Betamax. Edit: Speaking of DV this guy had a wild pro SVHS deck that also had a DV tape input. Hoping to get that off of him when he is done transferring some stuff. :D

The last Beta format was Betacam HDCAM SR. The production grade players for that format still go for absolutely insane money. Many stations just quit using it in the last two years. 440 or 880 Mbps, with 440 being 4:4:4 and does 1920x1080 over HD-SDI.

My only problem with the Wii was not enjoying the games Nintendo made for it. Everyone else's problem was playing only the wrong games on it (as well as not keeping their CRTs).

At last I have beatmania in my home. It's even a mini, fit right through all the doors in my apartment complex no problem.

Hi no Tori: Gaou no Bouken ~ Houou Hen, as they say. Licensed from the famous Tezuka manga. Easy but charmingly tactile platformer with a unique block-building hook. Wanted a nice copy for a while, one of those FC games that seems relatively cheap yet not especially common in good nick. 99% sure it's a sound game so went for it, will commence investigation! Image
