pitiful.
I actually agree with a bit of that. The lack of stage progression might be a big part of why this has failed to suck me in well.
The review is a bit misleading, though. It makes it sound like the game is impossibly hard and that the tutorial doesn't give information on the weapons, which it does. I found the tutorial very helpful for learning the game.

After many an hour, stage 2: sound / video

Featuring 10 Metal Sonics (love them). And the miniaturized version of the Thunder Force II end boss.

I have uploaded my Bangai-O levels.

Fantasy Zone
Antasy Zone
Evil Fortress

Fantasy Zone is a level based on the classic game. I used the Machine Gun Boss for the end since he looks like one of the Fantasy Zone bosses. Antasy Zone is a mod of Fantasy Zone with ants instead of bounce enemies in the spawners. Evil Fortress is a vertical level with regenerating cannons and a Longai-O target at the top of the level.

Yeah, I have a few more. This one should be ok. I’m not too crazy about this one, though. Feel free to try it out if you like.

This is one of the best stages that I’ve played. I really like this one.

That's one I can't get to work. :(

Best Treasure stage, anyone? Machine Map is so simple and perfect. Best time I can get is 18'65 so far.

Machine Map is a good one for time attack. My favorites are probably - Mimic Battle, Castle of Fools, and MIP2.

I was playing To The Core! earlier, blew up and finished the stage at the same time. It was hilarious. I didn’t think that was possible.

Yeah, I've done that a few times. My favorites are definitely the speed-oriented ones. Hate waiting for the slow moving bomb trail to open new paths and constant EX usage, which both add to the slowdown.

I really want to start playing a stage for score/time attack against some of you lot, so maybe I'll dig this one out...

I wanted to make it so you only had to destroy the spawners to open the gates, but I couldn't find a way to do that. I was thinking of doing it with just the spawners as the targets and no boss enemy, but the game wouldn't let me do ten targets and it wouldn't be as Fantasy Zone-ish without the boss enemy.

I made another level, this one is very small. It's an attempt at an Asteroids style level that I made by experimenting with respawning targets.

New awesome stage: Dracula's Rob

Recommend using break/stake (8)) for the few precision shots.

I made another variation to Fantasy Zone. This one has 7 spawners instead of 10 and no gates blocking the boss at the end. It's actually based off the version with the ants.

Okay, so I've finally made an original I want to upload, but I don't know if I have this audio cable thing and I'm not inclined to buy one if this is the only thing I use it for.
Has anybody recorded a stage with a mic and gotten it to work? After all, when transferring from one DS directly to another you put one's speaker to the other's mic or something..

Also, "DRACULA'S ROB" is pretty awesome. Clever use of h.bounce turrets - I think Longai-O's EX counter is the only time I've died faster.

Ha, I had 2-3 times as many in that section to start but switched a number of things around to reduce the slowdown and to make it less pixel perfect. Wanted some bullet hell.

They should've included a few more enemies and how about some moving platforms. Kinda out of ideas now.

Beyond sticking cores in front of bosses or trapping a 2x batbot in the middle of a bunch of turrets I dunno what else there could be, as far as enemy combinations.

There's still some potential left in traps, though.. for one, if you have a room of enemies you expect players to nuke with EX, you can make the walls destructible and put nastier enemies back there to come out when the EX breaks the wall down.
Enemies aren't very nasty in this game though, are they?

Laser floors (and walls) make for a good hazard, too.
Maybe put turrets to hold up rockblocks, and then stick lasers behind the rockblocks to create a hazard when the player destroys things?

Gave me some ideas, thanks.

Freeze and reflect really weren't utilized very well in the preset stages, were they? Reflect might be junk, but not sure about freeze. Any of you made any stages with those in mind?

Reflect seems to work very well on Longai-Os when used right after a huge counter. My Evil Fortress level was tested with the use of reflect, though the level didn't really have the end boss feeling at the end that I wanted.

Too bad putting the Treasure GBA carts into the GBA slot doesn't open up more enemy sets. Using enemies from Gunstar or Guardian Heroes would have been awesome, especially a seven force style enemy.
