I gotta give a shoutout to old anime purveyor Oldtaku TV.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-YZH6 ... 1C26MthWVA

I've watched and discovered lots of great '80s anime over at his channel. He has uploaded an awesome selection of mecha anime, violent cyberpunk stuff, fantasy adventures and everything else we love about that time period.

That channel is an absolute treasure

Not sure whether to put this here or in the fighting game hype thread.

I've seen many people talk up Real Bout Garou Densetsu Special, but very few actually playing it in depth - outside King of Fighters, the only SNK fighters with substantial competitive scenes appear to be Mark of the Wolves, Real Bout 2, and maybe The Last Blade 2.

You can imagine how surprised I was to see footage of some fairly high-level play on a channel that I had largely dismissed in the past due to its not appearing to feature many skilled players...

Ok. Ok. I fucking LOST IT watching this

Clint (Lazy Game Reviews) has found a 1990 tape of christmas music titled Electronic Computer Christmas Music and it's freaking AMAZING! (soooooo futuristic. it hurts)

It's legit great synthpop, you could swear it's from some classic mid '80s anime intro/outro  the 2nd track in particular. great pulsating synths/bass, some slowish grooves, a bit of funk and even an upbeat post-punk romp. The sassy dancefloor stomp of track 3 is also a force to be reckoned with. First 3 tracks he showcased are a ton of fun (didn't like the fourth one as much though. But it's still deliciously cheesy).

What else can I say : the cassette's cover is just great. so futuristic (like how '90s artists depicted the future I mean).

This is by far the most interesting christmas album I have ever encountered and now I really wanna find a copy, and play it at my place for the holydays  I swear I've never wanted a christmas album so bad. lol

Have a very New wave christmas everyone! Ho! Ho! Ho!

Let's play... Sega's Racing Hero, for real. This is set to Juno Reactor's "Mona Lisa Overdrive", with the motorcyclist weaving through a LOT of traffic.

Pretty cool wrap-up of the Yamaha DX7 synth, and some classic examples of songs(amongst a myriad of other songs) that used it. Cameo by the MSX standard of computers.
