seconded.. that's half the reason i put a link to my collection in my siggy, since i'm constantly updating it...

or, you could do what i did before thinking of that, and just run a search for 'proud', it should come up on the first page. ;)

heheh, actually was looking for the link in Turricans sigt las tuesday, but it seems it's removed. had to find it manually...
And I would be the third to vote for making the topic a sticky somewhere.
I am not in favor of too many stickies (3 MAX per thread subject would be the best imo) so I hope the mod's use this request wisely... ;)

Sorry, this one doesn't warrant a sticky tag - it's more or less spam and collection bragging, so deserves to rise and sink according to how interesting people find it. Please don't topic bump, every time you bump a topic, god releases a new Mary Kate & Ashley game. (It's in the rules too)

I think a better idea really, would be for someone to set a site up similar to VAPS, where people can register themselves and their collection. There's probably already some free software for that sort of thing, or adaptable to it. For those unfamiliar, VAPS allows people to record their arcade machines and PCBs, and provides an interface so you can search for which people have which game, along with being able to see which games are rare or widespread.

And then, I had a cunning idea.

I'll talk with the other mods about it - maybe one easy way we could accomodate this without it cluttering up the shmups chat section would be to create a whole new forum section called "Collections" - with one topic per user as the additional section rules.

Hey that sounds like a good way to do it!
To avoid spamming and endless pointless comments on peoples remarks I was wondering if it would be possible to have only the topic creator being able to post/edit in their own thread?

I've got no idea if it would be able to do, but it would be cool.
Giving people the chance to post in people's collection threads would be a "no" though as it is bound to result mostly in spam ("You got Darius Alpha!? Wow, man, that's fucking awesome" kinda posts...). :?

Couple of ideas here...

Perhaps you could implement some kind of comment system, like what Super Laydock said about posts containing "You got X game?!" and so on.

Also, it'd be cooler if you could also have a choice to pick out some of your collections that you'd like to sell or trade for something, and the users checks out what you have and perhaps make a buy or trade right there?
