That was actually what I first thought when you joined the forum. But then you posted a pic of yourself and saw that you're no trap.trap15 wrote:Typically people guess that it means that I am an underage trap
So I'm like "Oh, I guess he likes traps then".

"lock cmpxchg8b eax"
Also known as the Pentium F00F bug. Issuing that instruction on most early Pentium processors will cause the entire CPU to lockup and require a reset. I still remember when Linux implemented that patch and everyone was freaking out over it. Man, I miss my PowerPC PReP and Sparc boxes...

No bad intentions on calling you nerdy

Trap15 should get to keep the nerd trophy. He works for Hex-Rays, and that makes him an assembly god. I just pretend to know assembly, and I only know of the F00F and FDIV bugs because I was a sysadmin around that time and had to return several FDIV-blessed Pentium processors to Intel.O. Thanks for explaining the username, trap15, I was wondering about it yesterday. I thought maybe it had something to do with a debugger.

I really just made up a name I liked the sound of. I wanted it to be a completely fabricated word, and I wanted it to suit a squirrel because I adore squirrels.
As a kid I always wanted a dog, and my mind thought 'Spunky' was a really cool name for a pet (I wasn't then aware of the ejaculation reference!) so I guess it kind of came from there. Wasn't there a dog called 'Spunky' in that cartoon Rocco's Modern Life? It might have come from there. I'll admit (never thinking I'd become a mod!) I was also aware 'spadge' is a very obscure rude word, and I liked the idea of something puerile which barely registers as crude.
In other words, it's an alternative version of 'spunky' as a name. I've grown up to become my own childhood pet.
I made up 'spadgy' for this forum, but now I'm called it in person across the game industry (my work) by fairly senior people, down the arcades and even in the UK's jungle scene, where I know a few people who always call me 'spadgy'. I even get shout outs as 'spadgy' on the odd jungle radio show.

Wasn't there another thread like this? Anywhoo, "Drachenherz" is my main internet-handle allost since the beginning of me being online, at aroundish 1997 or so. (Oh dial-up, how I loath thee...)
I started using it in one of my very first emailadresses, drachenherz@swissonline.ch. I was looking for a good and powerful sounding name, with a hint of mystery and don't-know-what.
One or two years later, even before I got in to this bloody forum-addiction-craze that still got it's firm grip on me until today, I started using this handle in several chats, and then from aroundish 2003 or 2004 onwards, it's become my more or less standard forum handle.
It means "Dragonheart" in english, but personaly I prefer the german version, as it sounds... I dunno, as it sounds stronger and more mysterious.
Unless you call me "Drachi", "Drach" or "Drachman".
