Was walking down the street listening to great music, in the rain, with the sun beating down on me. Bliss. :D

And so the world of import PS2 games has opened to me. My Swap Magic (with slide tool) and Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 33: Fantasy Zone Complete Collection arrived this afternoon, and after watching a quick tutorial on-line regarding how to use the slide tool, I sat and played some of the games on there. In a few weeks, Thunder Force VI will hopefully come (barring any delays), and I'm wanting to grab Sega Ages 2500 Vol. 30: Galaxy Force II when I have some cash again.

Maybe I should make the 332nd thread asking about what import PS2 shmups to get

IT'S SNOWING!

We've got about 1/4 of an inch on the ground and bushes now, and it's the "dry", powdery type of snow since it's been rather cold today. The radar says it's not snowing, but it most certainly is. I missed the first coating of snow we got back in November, as it came and went pretty early in the morning. But this time, I can enjoy it.

after several months of having no disposable income, i was able to pick up:

left for dead
fable II
fallout 3

these are basically going to be my only video game purchases for the next few months, but i figure there are worst situations to be in.

most jazzed to play fallout, fable II is likely to be big fun, and one can't have enough valve-y goodness, so i anticipate left for dead to be quite a rollicking good time as well.

You'll have fun with Fallout... A very well thought-out game and very fun to play throughout.

I just upgraded to a Biostar a770 A2+ mainboard, (relatively) low-power Athlon X2 4850 CPU, dual channel 2x512MB DDR2 800, and GeForce 7600GT. I only spent $125 total.

And I finally got to the bottom of an annoying bug that made it so I couldn't play some WAV files on my laptop. The Win2k SP3 CD installs the file L3CODEA.ACM but doesn't actually add it to the codecs list in the registry.

Time to resurrect this little thread.

I took a walk in the rain today. It was cool and rainy for a while, so I decided to grab my umbrella, and stepped out. No one was around. No cars, no people, no nothing. It was quiet except for the sound of the rain falling through the tree leaves and hitting the ground, and the scent in the air was nice. It was so... relaxing.

I may need to start doing this more often. It wasn't quite as immersing and calming as walking alone with the soft hiss of the falling snow, but it was very pleasant.

Also, I finally got a sig I've been working on for the last month or so (off and on). It started out so simple, but ended up being a lot more that I planned. 600+ frames, some two-and-a-half minutes before it loops... poor Image Ready could barely run since the psd file is over 22MB

Here's the end result...

600 frames? The message of that sig is "fuck dial-up", right? :)

No, seriously, excellent work.

worstplayer, Specineff- Thanks :)

It's not "fuck dial-up", worstplayer. Well, maybe it is ;)

It wasn't intentional, Specineff. It sure looks like it was, but it wasn't. Though could you blame him if he did?

First I thought it was really creepy, and then I saw the other angle shots.

I can't believe I'm saying "not bad." The thing is still scaring me though, but I wouldn't mind having my desk under it. Heh. Great detailing.

Broke 100,000 in R-Type Delta's first stage (R13/Bydo/no miss). No idea if that's noteworthy or not, and not really bothered either way; it still makes me ^__^ hardcore when I'm reminded of how much value is in even one stage of a quality shooter. When I'm not stuck on a keyboard (can't use them to save my life; 20yr pad user) I'll have the other six stages to wring for points.

My car had developed an intermittant vibration and clunking coming from the back. I figured I was going to need a new driveshaft. So I got it up on ramps, removed the muffler, removed the heat shield and... WTF. There was an f-ing chestnut caught up in the U-joint
