run n gun/platformer suggestion

Hi!im looking for a run n gun or platformer with 4 direction shooting where you can move and shoot at the same time...
Stuff like the first metroid,blaster master,metal slug,cyber lip,demon front,shockman,gun devil on steam and alien hominid.even cave story has a system like that or kero blaster(sorta)
Any system is welcome and thank you in advance!

Out Zone

Not exactly what you are looking for, but you should play it anyway because it's fucking amazing in every way.

It's a fairly rare combination. 8-way's much more common (Out Zone is 8-way) if there's directional aiming at all

Out Zone is actually 16-way, but yeah, I can't think of too many 4-way games aside from like Metal Slug or whatever.

I also confused Alien Hominid with Alien Syndrome, which is where I got Out Zone from, but I really can't think of anything else. I'd say Horror Story but that's 2-way.

Tanuki Justice is a recent game that's criminally overlooked, one of my favourite run n guns in a long time outside of Steel Assault.

Why 4-way only though? Simultanous running and shooting coupled at least with upwards diagonal shooting feels perfectly natural as you move left/right also by pressing those directions. Anyway, Cyberlip with most weapons is 4-way only, but likely you already know it. A better game than it seems to be, and one of the easiest as well, in case you skipped it for not-too-good first impressions.

Ed. Just read you already mentioned Cyberlip, so I'll say AC Eswat instead (though you never shoot downwards there, so it’s just 3-way).

It's alright imo. Nice short review by CIT, good reminder to index it. Actually got a US release, might be better-known to you by its JP name Shiten Myouou? If you've played Kujaku Ou II aka Mystic Defender, or Jewel Master, it's kind of in the lower end of their bracket. Not as good as those, but similarly solid fare.

I took it totally literally. ESWAT (and Ghouls n Ghosts, Joe and Mac etc) have 4-way shooting, but you can't run and shoot at the same time. With both those restrictions it's a very limited pool.

You can on AC Eswat. It's quite different to the MD version, despite the name.

Btw i've found maru's mission on og game boy which is weird in a good way
Bad game but very funny

Newer ones mighty goose and super alloy ranger but seem a little too derivative
