any Virtua Cop fans? Probably not as loved as the HotD, but it’s still a super fun Sega franchise I wish would get a new entry

Yeah, I finally got around to buying VC2 for the Saturn, as well as a second light gun (already had the "stunner" and now I have the original black Virtua Gun). I'm not sure if I like the smoothed over graphics of the DC version better. It's a port of the PC version, which is based off the Saturn version. DC version works great with the madcatz gun, though I remember reading somewhere that it's compatible with the JP DC gun, unlike other US DC light gun games.

Has anyone every played VC2 on the PS2 Japanese disc? I’m guessing with the Guncon2 it would be the best way to play it at home? Cool to see some light gun talk in here.

The guts of a 3DO M2 prototype controller. I’d never seen one opened up and documented before so I figured I’d open mine

I still love it. Anyone else check this one out?

Was always interested in that one, ever since Gai Tendo was Joe Higashi's guest striker in KOF 2000 (EDIT: Takuma's, rather!). Was sick to death of goofy characters like Bao and Hinako, liked the idea of a return to macho man combat. Never encountered it though, the only NG64 game I played in arcades was Road's Edge.

Incidentally, Nobuyuki Hiyama voiced both Gai and Joe, and is still playing hot-blooded MMA fighters to this day (cf the excellent anime adaptation of Kengan Ashura).

YOSHAAAAAA!

Also voiced Link in OOT, one of my bigger recent "how TF did I not notice" moments!

I still haven't played Buriki One, but I've been intrigued since I heard about it!

A nice touch to Gai's appearance in KOF XI is that you use a command to put him into a stance, and from there your stick launches various attacks like in his parent series.

The HotD 4. The only game Sega hasn’t released on a physical disc in the franchise. So I’ll never be able to complete my collection w/o buying a cab lol

Warrior Blade, interesting game! One of those sudden genre shifts, reminds me of Ikari. An iconic original, an oddball followup, and an unexpected departure to brawling. (Ikari II is excellent though - not gonna pile on Rastan II with only a few credits played, but I know it's not exactly an acclaimed sequel )

Where Guevara/Guerilla War is clearly the "real" Ikari III, I guess the nearest thing to another action/platforming slasher from Taito would be the very different RPG-informed Cadash. Incidentally, the heavily Rastan-inspired Little Ralph (PS1) is an excellent spiritual sequel. Despite the cutesy looks it's a balls-hard arcade-worthy challenge, designed by game center veterans and it shows.

The “oddball departure” middle game is always amusing isnt it? Take a success, turn it on it’s head, and wonder why people don’t like it lol

Absolutely criminal that this one still hasn't gotten a port. The feelgood 90s SEGA Arcade Racer epitomised. Killer OST! This and SEGA Touring Car Championship rock hard. Got the latter's struggling Saturn port just for DEM CHOONZ Image

My memories of a relatively small cab make me sometimes fantasize about purchasing one. Most likely, I would have hard times learning to play with a wheel (I should perhaps try playing MSR with my Saturn wheel via adapter one of these days, BEFORE making such a flamboyantly midlife crisis purchase).
The rear gate is closed down
The way out is cut off

Better than Sega Race TV? Do you have access to that/will make a video about it?

The closest you can come to is on an original Xbox. Outrun 2 has the tracks from Scud Race as an unlockable special course!
