Gaming regrets
Gaming regrets
So I've pumped in a little over 6000 hours into dota 2 and its finally got to the stage where I'am ready to leave for good as I uninstalled last night, why you ask? simply because I realise truly that people really do not care for co-operation. For a moba the design and mechanics of the game are great but balance issues and heroes who are constantly picked coupled with the biggest issue...the community ruin the experience. I've never played an online game where I have had people wish cancer upon me and my family people really are truly toxic in that game I mean I get mad when theres a fuck up or something bad happens but never enough to wish somone death lmao. Each game runs for approximately an hour meaning if you have people on your team who do not listen and are adament in playing rambo and doing their own thing then your pretty much going to waste an hour sitting there for the game to end while getting butt raped by the enemy End Rant.
Oh and another gaming regret that I remember vividly was on my ps2 back in the day playing Onimusha and doing the battle quest where you battle a group of enemys and at the end of 100 waves you get an amazing weapon I remember getting to 99 and wasting like 4 hours getting there only to die on the 100th wave and damn near bursting into tears
So anyone else got any gaming regrets they want to share?

Re: Gaming regrets
I've played dota and dota 2 for a few years. I could never stand playing with random people. Imo mobas are best played with a group of like-minded friends (like-minded as in casual OR competitive).
As my life got busier I dropped it and returned to playing arcade games exclusively - I can rarely afford playing for one hour straight without pausing or going AFK.

Re: Gaming regrets
My worst regret is selling my Nintendo 64 I got from my uncle as a gift at a flea market for 15 euros, because my father thought stuff on a flea market should be cheap and that an old N64 wasn't really worth that much.
To make matters worse, I used that money to buy Sonic Heroes.

Re: Gaming regrets
My biggest regret I think is having gone all digital with the PS4. I have over 400 PS4 games, all digital, and having not played many of them, and with no way of getting rid of them... I dunno, it feels like a waste.
Re: Gaming regrets
Gotta say I feel pretty good about my gaming. Not many mistakes there at all, unlike the rest of my life.

Re: Gaming regrets
Not buying a handful of titles when they were reasonably priced, a regret surely many have.
Also chucking out my GBA boxes to save space. I was thoroughly sick of gaming at the time, so didn't view them the same way as my SMS and SNES games.
Otherwise? Meh I've bought some stinkers but immediately offloaded them without significant loss. I don't regret having spent time with anything, probably would if I played more multiplayer though!

Re: Gaming regrets
Honestly, the only thing that comes to mind is buying a Wii. The only games I liked on that system were No More Heroes and Sin & Punishment 2.
Re: Gaming regrets
Meh. The only thing you would regret more was not having played:DGaijinPunch wrote:I regret a few games of hide the sausage I've played over the years.
You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.
Re: Gaming regrets
I regret playing games that require stupid farming to obtain stuff that become obsolete with the following dlc: The Division, Destiny...
Also, I have bought some vita digital games, while are more convenient, are wasting money.. I can see it now checking prices of my x360 shmups phisical collection

Letting one of my mother's employees borrow my NES for her son.
She not only stole it, but my SNES as well, and my entire libraries for both.

I've spend a lot of hours on some multiplayer games, and I don't regret it. I regret the multiplayer games I missed out on.

Putting up with some older games in PAL, 50hz and massive borders is so many peoples childhood over here.

Please tell me we are not discussing one of those prison survival stories, GP.
I think a lot like Transatlanticfoe: "I should have bought them at the time". I still partially value money so I will not be dropping gazillions to rectify all of those mistakes: gaming as part of a healthy lifestyle and all that.

Re: Gaming regrets
Most regrettable game purchases:
- Black and White (that one put me off of Peter Molyneux games forever)
- The Sims (Bought it, played it a bit, decided it wasn't for me and put it aside, and would have left it at that if not for the fact that my sister then picked it up, became obsessed with it and started hogging my computer playing it constantly.)
Biggest regret: Selling off my arcade cab when I had one. I still have all my boards, but at this point I have roughly a 0% chance of being able to get another cab to play them on.
Second biggest regret: Selling off my copy of MUSHA for something like $40 before the prices took off.

Not buying a box of sealed NES games (including Castlevania 3) at a flea market years ago.
Not buying Dracula X (SNES) at Wal-Mart when the SNES was on the way out. $15 and I bought Street Fighter Alpha 2 instead. Granted, DX sucks, and I even knew that at the time, but still.

Come on! We've been over this!
Dracula X is fucking amazing! Way better than both CV4 and Bloodlines, don't listen to the scrubs.

I threw away Mad Dog, Dune and Dragon's Lair for the PC. Isnt a big regret, neither was in those cool boxes.
Re: Gaming regrets
That I ever though buying Ford Racing for the PSX was a good idea. That was a game I had to throw away because it was so awful. If there's a game that puts you off of racing games for a long time, that would be it. Yet somehow it got sequels!

Crappy off brand DC Keyboard that would often make things awkward

This, so many times over. Using emulators was a revelation. Finally playing the originals on imported machines...Smraedis wrote:Putting up with some older games in PAL, 50hz and massive borders is so many peoples childhood over here.
