PC98 Translation Project |Release: Belloncho Body Inspection

Post by Nana »

Hey all!

I just started something that I think a few of you might be interested in. In order to spread awareness of this great system, I decided I would translate as many PC98 games as I can. I already have two games, Reserve and it's sequel Reserve 1/2 to get started. If you are interested in the project, please have a look here!

If you'd like to help out, please consider sharing the project with a RT! I would be honored to have people playing my translations.

I would also love some general PC98 chat. Any recommendations of games to look into, either for fun or for this project?

I remember Macaw recommending Tokyo Twilight Busters highly, absolutely ages ago. Makes me happy to see it listed here.

Thanks for the comments! I'm super excited for Tokyo Twilight Busters myself, I think the game is awesome. Music's great, visuals are great, and I think it has to be one of the coolest games Wolfteam ever put out.

For you guys in particular, I think it's worth noting that Star Cruiser 2 has a soundtrack by the guy who did the Sin & Punishment soundtrack on N64. And it's a good game, too.

Wow, cool stuff. PC-98 deserves as much love as the love showed in many of it's games.

Hey all, thanks for the comments!

While it took considerably longer than I was hoping, I finally finished the next game I've been working on.
It's called "Belloncho Body Inspection," and it's a pretty creative sex-comedy RPG that takes itself seriously and as a parody in equal measures. Definitely 18+, but I think it's a pretty accessible and funny game overall.

You can download the patch file: here

Enjoy!

Shoot, there's a STGWeekly episode with trap & Macaw? And I had plans today and everything...

I would also like to point out that I was fortunate enough to receive a nice message from Sapporo Momoko -- the artist, musician, and writer behind Belloncho -- on Twitter. It's a great feeling to know that she's happy about this thing existing.

Also, I was thinking of doing Variable Geo next because the way the files are organized would make it quite easy, but maybe Night Slave would be a more interesting project.

Anybody checked out BBS? What do you think?

Pardon my ignorance, but how does one go about playing PC-98 games... on a PC-98 :?:

I wonder if the new Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters is related to that...

Probably not.
