Devil Daggers(Quake-esque arena FPS survival-attack game)

So there's this new game on steam called Devil Daggers where you're on a large, flat, circular platform in a void, and you have to defend yourself against waves of various skeleton monsters using machine gun and shotgun like streams/blasts of daggers (which upgrade over time if you collect gems from enemies, but you must stop shooting to pick them up before certain enemies eat them); you die in one hit, and the goal is to see how long you can survive (apparently the current best is around 8 minutes).

Graphically, it's designed to look like quake era FPS games, and it seems to play much like those kinds of games as well, with stuff like bunny hopping and shotgun jumping. Sound design seems really atmospheric too.

It's about $5, and I think for the price it's pretty good, although I haven't had an opportunity to play it that much yet.

The lack of scanlines and tate support and no DRM-free version make this game an abomination.

All we know that Devil Daggers were epochal.
It was THE life changing experience.
So many friends of mine played it RELIGIOUSLY.
World just was not the same after it came out.


...anyway!

Suddenly, developers appear and release a new game.
Not sure if it would ever eclipse DD, but worth the mention.

Fun game but man, I hit a roadblock on it pretty early on. Haven't played in a couple of years now.
