I'm up to Rom. I will say the wheel isn't the best weapon for this fight with all the small spiders.Blinge wrote:Is this on NG?
Hmm two bosses! very interesting, wish i knew what they were.

Not yet. Rom is done. This is probably something I knew about and forgot but if you do too much damage it double spawns the spiders after teleporting.

Lol. What's the accepted shmups farm boss order? The order I typically see online has Paarl way too late for my taste.Blinge wrote:Aw i like Amygdala. Pfft you're gonna be overlevelled for logarius
ETA: Not over leveled according to fex, though obvs they are not the final authority on anything. Planned to do it next.
Re: From Software 'n such
I doubt there's a chumpsfarm order. it's a weird one.
Paarl is either so tough at the beginning that you better find some fire element and work only on his legs or just forget it. Or he's a complete pushover if you come back later.
I think Logarius post Rom is probably a good time if you want the challenge. iirc Yaharghul proper has enough upgrade stones that doing it after One Reborn is probably like.. the most balanced option, I assume the chonks you can find in Yaharghul make him significantly easier.
I really wonder what the intended order is.

I upped my damage a bit from where I was, and took him down. Frosty bastard.

So the Emissary is a meme right? With the true boss being to discover you need to smash the window to get to Ebrietas. I think about this every time, even 10 or however many playthoughs in. Hard to imagine dying to Ebrietas either but I seem to recall a certain ginger having problems.

Re: From Software 'n such
It's even closer to Dark Souls than I expected, down to individual spell effects (I spied a Homing Soulmass @0:15)
It's fun to see any kind of activity at all and the first glimpses of gameplay but still probably no reason at all to get hopes up about an approaching release.
Seeing a lot of comments like this:

It's an internal trailer from a year ago so it's a bit rough. This is similar to the Project Beast trailer that leaked before Bloodborne released.

What i don't get are the sneering, smug haters on twitter chasing that clout.
"just dark souls open world LUL"
well, i dunno that sounds cool to me what the fuck else did you want?
Some amazing new concept hitherto unimagined by *any* dev? and FromSoft to be the ones who'd give it to us? Get real.

I for one can't wait to play open world Dark Souls on a horse.

A streamer I sometimes watch is playing Dark Souls completely blind. Unlike the last guy, this guy is not the quitter type. I love this shit.

What's the stream? I wouldn't mind popping in. Love to watch people experience these games for the first time.Steamflogger Boss wrote:A streamer I sometimes watch is playing Dark Souls completely blind. Unlike the last guy, this guy is not the quitter type. I love this shit.

He's a huge Fami/NES guy that is also trying to beat every Fami/NES/FDS etc game.

Oh cool. Where do you know Peter from?
Hanged out with him the last few times I was in the states and did tetris things, very nice guy.

Re: From Software 'n such
I've never done a Covenant of Champions run for DS2 (scholar) before so I've started that. Faith/Str, started Cleric.
Damn I feel like this class is hard to begin with.. what with spreading your points across Faith and Damage and not seeing a pay off for it in the early game. Not to mention attunement if you wanna slot more than one miracle. Somehow the 3 lightning bolt ammo from Licia doesn't seem all that useful in the early game. Also having to pump ADP. urgh! ADP is still a terrible idea.
Honestly feels like I don't get to play the game until I can pump enough.
It's all well and good telling me not to rely on rolling, but my god is stamina an issue in the early game too. Especially when enemies deal more damage due to the covenant. Not rolling is also difficult when my brain is hardwired after years to roll away/past attacks.
I suppose I could slowly block and get one mace hit before having to retreat behind the shield again and slowly clunk every enemy to death like that. That's gonna be tough with the crowds in Forest of Fallen Giants eh?
Shield worked fine in No Man's wharf, enemies actually bounce off so I could combo reliably. Enemies elsewhere don't really care if you block them, they'll just attack again.
Well this is kind of all moot now, I've just put the Sentinels down, got the DragonSlayer Crescent Axe because that's apparently a great Faith/Str weapon.
I don't think i will enjoy playing DS2 at SL1 later: entirely because of ADP.

oh mannn.. This invasion!
one dude fist-backstabs and headbutt staggers while the streamer Scraping spears the poor sod til all his gear is broken, poisons and plagues him.. then they beat him in the corner with headbutts until he finally dies to poison.

This should be a crime

DS2 SL1 is a bitch. Your dodge timing has to be impeccable at all times.
