Velstadt is fun since you can full parry him! But yeah, there are a couple of fights that felt nearly impossible without unfun exploits. Definitely the worst SL1 style experience in the series.

Even without DLC?
I don't know if that's also true for the original DS2, but when I replayed the game in the SOTFS edition, I was kind of surprised how much easier the bosses were compared to what I remember.
The game could be a pain lots of places during the stages, mostly due to the awful placement of enemies - but outside of like a couple of DLC bosses, they all went down quite easily, with the final ones being some of the more notable pushovers. Coming right from SL1'ing the DS1 DLC, it was a pretty massive relief, haha!
However, I also thought they were some of the more varied and interesting fights in the series, most of them being quite entertaining - which is a bit of a contrast to the reputation the game has for "all sword guys in armor".

yeah, most DS2 bosses are easy enough on a SL1 run as you can just sidestep most attacks. the DLC bosses though......

Enjoying my champion's covenant game now. just took getting through the first couple of areas and pumping some ADP.
That or my STR/FAITH damage started to mature.

What's interesting is that I've never had to respect many of the base game bosses, but this time I found myself actually having to fight Najka and Velstadt instead of auto-piloting the fight.

Lost sinner actually pushed my shit in a few times, can yer believe it? Maybe that was low ADP too. but yeah the fight became trivial when I remembered what this board in my left hand was for.

ahahah. as soon as the video loads, you know what it's gonna be.

DS2 champions SOTFS nearly done. Fume and Alonne are down. I'm using Velstadt's big BELL.
BONG. it's slow as all hell but that damage.

Also someone put a dragon duel stone down so i summoned him, he tried to hit me mid-bow. but he was shit, and lost. then added me on steam..

Oh man. Horsefuck Valley with Covenant of Champions on..

Edit:
Fuck Horsefuck Valley! All my homies hate Horsefuck Valley.

Just beat it, I learned about the large/great club splat attack vs the Electric raindeer. basically you get them in unblockable okizuuumi loop. cheese TF out of them.
Also from the second building if you run to the first hollow, somewhat left, then stop: you'll fight 1 deer, then sprint all the way to the third building, you won't have to fight another.
Total 2 deer per run.

King's Pets were tough as AF not gonna lie, and i had to weapon switch midfight cause my BELL broke

Finally got my PS5 couple weeks ago and I've been playing Demon's Souls. I love it! I'm a huge fan of From soulsborne (+Sekiro) games since original Demon's Souls. I like the look and sound of new DeS and quality of life improvements. I have now 5 characters ready... I mean for invading, 'cause that's the real fun 8) I did a str build with dragon bone smasher, faith/regen build, dex/critical, magic and one vitality with northern regalia. All builds between sl 30-70. Now I'm gonna enjoy invading and then do sl120 duel character. Good times

Looks like Souls. With a horse. It's all about the world and how it hangs together for me, I feel the series got a little worse with every title.

One to wait and to "'n such" category, since it's basically 2D souls: Salt and Sacrifice! I really like Salt and Sanctuary and just seeing trailer, I know I'll like Sacrifice too.

That's a really reductive statement man, there seems to be more high fantasy blended in this time.
"Looks like Souls" will be the chorus if From release anything in a medieval RPG setting ever again, (unless it has a colour pallette like league of legends :| )

On the other hand, yes it looks like Souls to whatever extent, and nihil nove sub sole.

Yeah, looks more traditional in some respects, but still unmistakably a From game.

Pretty much. Calender will hit 2023 and I'll have just played Elden Ring.

Looking forward to Bil's play. Will we be invading? Lending a hand? Or watching from afar?

Anyone who lends the good doctor a hand and so tries to RUIN his first experience, will lose that hand.

I'd have said so until Sekiro. That certainly wasn't for me.

Fair enough.

If I have a complaint with Sekiro it would be Ashina Castle. It's the back drop for 40% of the game.

That said I think the combat is amazing, and several of the boss fights are outstanding.
