Bosconian (Arcade/MSX/SharpX1/X68K)

(Feel free to mention any information missing as I'm fairly new to this game in general.)

This is a hi-score board for Namco's multi-direction STG/CAG ( Classic Arcade Game) Bosconian, released in 1981. Based on what I can find, I would recommend using the Bosconian new version rom ( as its the default in MAME). I know that this game got a number of ports to the MSX, Sharp X1, & X68K computers, which will have seperate scoreboards.

Defaults are: Difficulty: Medium, Allow Continue: Yes, Demo Sounds: on, Freeze:Off, Cabinet: Upright, Coinage: 1Coin/1Credit, Bonus Fighter:20k,70k,every 70K, Lives:3

maximo - 249,740 - 15 - Yes - ARCADE 0.214

Got this starter score offline; gotta spend some time learning optimal behavior if I want to get further into this game.

Edit (12/20/19):
maximo - 349,130 - 20 - Yes - ARCADE 0.214

- I think I'm starting to understand level behavior a bit better now, along with utilizing diagonials, and not being so close to bases when there's a ton of small enemy spawns. Although I still have trouble with small spawns popping up right next to me & crashing into my fighter at times.
- Round 15 looks like the last big difficulty jump ( condition red will happen much easier from that point onwards) & level layouts start to repeat from level 20 onwards after comparing a couple of videos from the new version.

In any case, there's still a lot that can be improved on my end.

I didn't know we had a thread for this game. Here's my PB playing aggressively (killing bases quickly, usually destroying 2-3 cannons). It's how I find it more fun.
You can get more points per stage destroying every single part, but according to sikraiken who reached the counterstop, you get points faster playing aggressively (useful for a counterstop that takes 8+ hours ).

SPM - 456,850 - 24 - No - ARCADE (MAME, New version)

I also played a credit in the "old version" ROM to compare them and it was mostly the same but there seemed to be more enemies in the early levels and I think some bases were in different locations.
