Finally got Omote down after four years of pain and frustration. Nearly despaired when a misbomb denied me the 1up in 2-5 but I was determined to win.

Here's the replay, recorded with Shmupmame v2.2. When I tried to play the .inp back it would sometimes desync in 2-5 for no apparent reasons, so I've attached the nvram file as well.

funny that the same thing with the 2-5 extend happened to me when i cleared omote, didn't deny me the clear but could've been 1 place higher on the board

IIRC you lost the 1up because Tiger Schwert ran away, right? So while I failed to get the extend due to my mistake, in your case it's purely because bad luck, right?

Probably not. Ura is too hard for my skill and playing for score in the first loop doesn't make it any easier. I know how much effort you had to put in before you cleared ura and I don't think I could do the same.

238 I think. Pretty good for me. I seem to hit around 238-240 every time, my stage bests adding up to about 246. I've never bothered to learn how to empty lock the shit out of everything, so my first loop scores don't really improve much.

I've thought about it. Sometimes when I go on a long streak where I fail to make the Ura loop, I despair and think "why don't I play something easier like ESPGaluda?", but I've practiced the Ura loop so much it would be a shame not to get one really good run out of it. So probably not, but maybe.

I do use empty lock, but if you've watched a run by SPS he empty locks pretty much every small plane and tank, it's crazy. I mostly only use it on a few large enemies that are easier to empty lock than most.

My Ura loop scoring technique is don't die and try to destroy high value enemies with the lock shot.

Hah, definitely not easy. I just want to get to 2-4 without dying and then have a decent finish.

hey i'm finally playing shooting games again.
and i beat an old pb from 2008. :D

this run started really strange and i did many mistakes that i normally don't do. (normally i start stage 1-4 with 85m)
but somehow it ended up being my best run ever.
i bombed so much at the loop because my nerves were over the top.
this run was really awesome for me. got that nice old shmup adrenalin feeling. (just look at the stage 2-3 1up) :)

The cpo will fit a New Astro City cab, the green colour buttons and ball top reminds the cubes in Ketsui and it will be perfect with the Astros cabs who has a lot of green I think !

I did not expect this at all, it was just a quick game at the arcade. Only after doing the last boss first pattern I saw that I had enough stock to clear the game. Took me by surprise, started yelling afterwards. Maybe I'll try to unlock the loop, one day.

Started playing again a few days ago, finally joined the 100M club (then promptly blew the 1CC opportunity on the boss)

I played Ketsui last year during almost 2 months, a great game, I'll certainly come back to it this year :D

First time into ura after a few months of playing this. Got a fairly decent first loop route in terms of balancing safety and scoring so now need to properly learn a 2nd loop.
