Thanks all. The video is up.

Haha thanks. I've practiced the loop quite a bit since last time because I really didn't want to lose the next time I looped. One of my practice runs even had me no-miss to the descent in 2-5!
You're still way better than me at the first loop though. And I can't quite seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong no matter how many times I check your video's. :?
ResumeDPosition wrote:How many lives did you have left at the start of 2-5?
Five spares. So six left total with the 1up. There are two really bad deaths in the stage though.

My thoughts on the URA loop prior to joining this forum:

"Welcome to Special Round. There is no happiness for you here, only despair"

My thoughts on the URA loop after joining this forum:

"Welcome to Special Round. There is enormous happiness for you here, after years of despair"

I can't even begin to imagine what it must have felt like.

I want to thank all the folks at iji for the constant encouragement and inspiration.

So without further ado the score:

Jaimers - 389,878,382 - ALL URA - Tiger Schwert - ShmupMame 2.2
Congrats Jaimers, good to see another ura clear around. I'll say your success is well expected.

Any ideas about keep going?
MrMonkeyMan wrote:Come on, x91. Time to embarrass us all with a 450 million clear.
Haha, not sure about that. My second loop is too shattered to get me a decent full run. I can always try my best of course, but, well, I'll try...

Practically, take my 1st loop with your steady second loop will be much ideal. Got a replay of mine on the XBLive leaderboards just now, 1st loop only. Check the differences compared with your pattern, and observe the great gap between those Japanese superplayers and me.

It'll be great to see someone has me replaced ;)

Xbox 360 X-Mode
Jaimers - 636,745,521 - ALL - Tiger Schwert - X360 X-Mode

I did a single credit and apparently I'm #3rd on the 360 leaderboard. I'm not sure how.
emphatic wrote:Yeah, how does it feel?
Feels good man.

As for keeping going, I'll probably try to break 400M at some point. I've recently made some new savestates and got a 241M first loop so there's plenty of improvement.
Can't make any promises though as I'm just a pretentious casual after all.

I'm pretty sure the Ketsui cabinet at HEY isn't on default settings, they give you extra ships.

You're right, it used to be like that for a long time but yesterday it was on default settings. I never play it in there normally because of what you said coupled with it being a 100 yen a credit, it's on a Egret II with horrible controls and a blurry screen. I was waiting for someone so I thought I would waste some time.

And just to prove it was on default settings, as any regular HEY frequenter will know, they always have a sign next to the marquee denoting that the title is set to easy, has extra lives, on non-default settings etc. As you can see, no said sign at the time of my Hi Score, hence default settings:

If still in doubt, 03-5209-2030 is their number.

Thank you for your input anyway NTSC-J.

I don't doubt you, but the sign for the altered settings is above the marquee so it would've been cropped out of your photo if it was there.

Good because I don't fib now, and I didn't fib when I was the UK emap champion on Jap Thunder Force II MD in 1989. Julian Rignal believed my photographic proof...

Not always, my decade experience of HEY patronage says that said sign sometimes hangs from the ceiling and sometimes is put on wonky to the left of the marquee.

N.B. Tokyo Ketsui PCB players-As of 23/03/13, HEY's Ketsui is now set at default settings.

But you raise an interesting point NTSC-J, maybe only PCB scores from respected 'Scorerers' Japanese arcades should be the only truely undisputed ones here as they would be in Japan?

I dread to think of the cheating that is possible with MAME and X360. Are they truly valid? Not my place to say really.

Anyway, the phone numbers there complete with photographs so I've done my best to validate my score more than most.

Cheers.

I was there on the 24th and its on the adjusted settings with the extra lives again. My guess is someone requested it be set to defaults on the day you played it.

It bugs me that they have so many of their games not on defaults but I guess other people like it like that.

You were there the very next day and you didn't ask just out of interest? Coupled with the fact that you were the very one interested enough so much so that you commented on my High Score in the first place. Of course you have more important things to think about so I'm shan't flatter myself any further.

This is fishier than their whole Sagaia floor space.

Seeing as my humble achievement has been brought in to question and as I am a gent and a sport, I would like to declare my last High Score as null and void then.

I thank you.

Cheers.

Damn, I hate this game but I love it at the same time; I reached the stage 4 boss on my last life and 1 bomb left, that son of a bitch massacred me quickly. Someday, I will achieve an all clear, but first I plan to 1cc stages 1-5. This game is so intense, I really need to practice a lot more.
