Nice score. For some reason I didn't get any notifications of the thread update. O_O Tempted to break this out again, but not sure if I should do Asagi or go for 600 mil.

On that note, keep posting Asagi & Tateha scores. I'll likely break the tables up.

Thanks guys. I need to practice stage 6 now in order to have a chance at a 1CC score. I think with my current scoring patterns I could get a 500+ mil ALL if I could come into stage 6 with 3-4 spare lives and find a safe, reasonably productive scoring route through it. Hopefully I'll be able to do this by the end of the year.

You can count on at least an easy 25 million at the end of stage 6, when the Asagi Clone's come out. The first midboss is a bit of a trick, but you can get about 25 mil there if you zesshi one arm, and the body, and about 30 on the 2nd mid-boss if you zesshi both arms and the body. Of course, both are much easier said than done.

A couple of places I could've done much better were stage 5 (I could only do two zesshi's on Seseri), and always screwed up at the end. :)

Thanks for the tips. BTW, do you know if it is better to finish the game with a full barrier or with more spare lives? I remember in the first game it was optimal to suicide if you had no barrier left and more than one spare life, as the full barrier bonus was greater than the spare life bonus. I just want to know, if I get the last form of the final boss down to the last of its health with two lives left but no barrier, whether or not I should suicide or just beat it with the two lives.

At this point, I'm not sure. You can do the math and see, but honestly it's never been an option for me. Also, by my math, the end bonus should be much smaller than it really is.

Yeah I know, maybe I'll never be in the situation where I have to choose, as I'll be lucky to beat the boss on my last life. But, I have found I can get through the last phase of the final boss without dying basically 100% of the time, if I come into that phase with a full barrier (I have to use the full barrier to get through it alive). Which leads to my hypothetical quandry.

I'm convinced it will never be an issue for me. Regardless of how many lives I start the last boss with (in Galuda or Galuda II), I'm always down to my last one at the end.

Got it at the end of October, but I haven't really had much of a go with it until this week.

While I'm here, and since my score hasn't been added yet, I'll throw up a small update.

MrMonkeyMan - 358,310,173 - Stage 6 - Ageha

I had 90 million after stage 2 which is by far my best yet, but not much went right after that.

Well, I guess I'll savor 1st place for another couple of weeks, tops. :)

EDIT:
I can't remember my scores for my 500 mil run (I might've posted them in here somewhere) but if I busted my balls, I could get 100 mil at the end of stage 2. I almost always fucked up on the boss though.

I actually played this a few weeks ago trying to get a 50 mil + stage 1, and was then going to try for a 60 mil stage 2. Never got there, and now all my PCBs are in a container.

EDIT again:
Yeah, I posted them in here.
Going off of memory, the end of each stage looked like:

1: ~40 mil
2: ~85 mil
3: ~145 mil
4: ~235 mil
5: ~320 mil
6: ~420 mil
end bonus: 88 mil.

My best scores if I didn't screw up would probably be:
44 mil, 95 mil, 160 mil, 260 mil, 350 mil, 470 mil + end bonus.

This is sitting next to Mushihime-sama Futari in the game center I frequent. Lots of really bizarre play I witness. Just in the last week:

1: 1 clear-only of Asagi. Impressive run, but basically no scoring. He finished with 115 million I think. (yawn)
2: Saw one guy get pretty far (stage 6 I think) w/o using kakusei even once. No extends... at all. No points or the item.
3: Another get to stage 5 or so, in Zetsu Akasoukou (the new overheat mode the whole way)
4: Two guys credit feed until the end

I'd love to get 600 mil, but I doubt it'll happen anytime soon. I've lost what magic I used to have in this game. :(

Actually, I've submitted an Asagi score in this thread too (hoping you might open separate ranking charts for each character).

I guess if we get enough people. Personally, I don't like breaking up the tables to be honest. Each character has their own strengths and weaknesses... the essence of the high score table is utilizing them in the name of competition. Just my 2 yen though.

Yeah, I understand that. But on the flipside Arcadia records high scores for each character, and the PCB has different scoreboards for each character too. Also, an Asagi player will never be able to score as high as an Ageha player either (if we're talking about theoretical maximums), so they really aren't on a level playing field.

But, whatever.

Another Asagi score:

TWE - 151,130,667 - Stage 5 - Asagi

Made it to the very end of the boss. First Asagi credit in a couple months. Playing mainly for survival. Improvements to follow!

LOL. Nice score. I'll bet you couldn't get within that close of it again if you tried. I won't be playing this for quite some time though now that I'm a father, so you'll be safe.

EDIT: No video?

Yeah, mine was too. I was pretty confident I could get 550 or maybe even 6 w/ very little other than cleaning up (I got my 500 mil w/ zero remains). Never got around to it though.

Were you ever able to do the trick on stages 1 & 2 where you have no gold, but suck some in and go right into zesshikai? I can do it, but I always fuck the end of the stage up.
