That was totally worth it. I've said it before and I'll utter it again like a threadbare mantra: if you have a game that has quite a bit of RNG when it comes to scoring, do NOT restrict it to one loop if it would go on naturally. I knew by stage 3 that I wasn't going to get a really good score by dint of not spawning any cars and getting a mediocre power-up cycle. Between playing further and making actual progress and constantly resetting in hope of a favourable disposition of Fortuna, everyone should be able to agree the former is preferable. It's even more efficient time-wise!

I still can't tell if I like this game or loathe it. I need more time to waffle over Mad Shark's quality. The scoring seems pretty silly though, oh my lord. The coins remind me of Psikyo coins/medals/bars, except unfortunately less visually informative (compared to Gunbird 2 coins). At least the numbers are coloured.
