Strike Gunner S.T.G [Arcade/SFC/SNES]

Alright, let's make a board for this one while we're at it!

For the arcade version, please let everything at defaults (there's only one version as far as I can tell, right?). Please do note the possible usage of autofire and the player side, I don't know if the latter one is important, but why not? A submission should look like so:

Player - Score - Stage - Autofire - Player side

The 16-bit port is peculiar in more than one way. The original SFC game has a moreso traditional approach in naming the difficulty settings, ranging from Easy to Normal to Hard to Otaku, Normal being the default. The Western versions, however, have numbers going from 0 to 4, starting with 1 by default. That's actually the Easy setting. 2 corresponds to Normal, 3 is Hard, 4 Otaku, 0 is a new "Very Easy". So please make sure to check which difficulty you're playing this on. Also in order to get a picture of your score you have to play the game again after clearing it and then look at your high score after stage 1 or getting a Game Over. A submission should look like so:

Player - Score - Stage

Arcade

Code: Select all

Name Score Stage Autofire Player side
1. Perikles 3,579,000 ALL Yes 1P
2.
3.
4.
5.

SFC/SNES

Normal/2

Code: Select all

    Name Score Stage
1. Perikles 1,520,400 ALL
2. Kollision 1,425,400 ALL
3.
4.
5.
Otaku/4

Code: Select all

    Name Score Stage
1. pegboy 1,423,700 ALL
2.
3.
4.
5.

Due to the awkward scoring system in this version (get more points for hitting enemies longer, hence when not fully powered up) I got a pretty low score not despite, but because of not dying before the final stage.

Might as well post my score from last year:
SNES - Otaku/4
pegboy - 1,423,700 - ALL

I will probably tackle the arcade version at some point if it's as easy as you say. This game is pretty bad but I'm oddly drawn to it for some reason.

The arcade game is ludicrously easy. There's one somewhat tricky boss, the rest is a cakewalk. And it's no bother to pop in another credit if you die somewhere since the game is barely over 12 minutes (!) long. SNES/SFC version on Normal is substantially harder, let alone an Otaku clear such as yours. Now that's a fabulous achievement! :)

SFC - Normal

Perikles - 1,520,400 - ALL

Intentionally lost a life early on so that I had to hit some of the (mid-)bosses with more shots in order to drastically increase the score.
