Thanks for taking over!

I'm pretty sure that Mills' Bf-109 score was an ALL and he definitely played the PCB.

For my score I didn't use autofire and was playing on the 1P side. I don't really understand why you want to include these information. Especially the player side doesn't matter at all?

Autofire and PCB/MAME is understandable. Player side is probably a precaution in the case that it's found that one side is superior to another (like what I found about Ketsui).

My score is also done on the 1P side without autofire buttons, our game center seems have a favor of pristine. (Ikaruga here doesn't have a release button either, so when playing against 5boss it'll be quite a show when the player smashes A+B repeatly :D )

The Japanese region PCB however, I'm not sure what it matters, I know little about the differences.

thanks for the extra info! sorry about mills's score, he specifically put "2-8" for some reason and i was afraid to assume he hadn't switched platform

the player side field is indeed there just in case, especially seeing as sonic wings was the game that let you use totally different characters on 2p side... although... even if you were to confirm no differences on a code level, i'd still put the field there...

x91, the note by your score isn't clear at all, i'm afraid; the japan part is clear enough, but i don't know which of the two japan versions you've used (easiest way to tell: what sound do 2000 gold bars make). as far as region differences go, mills said they were likely due to seeing a number of things he wasn't familiar with in a run. i'm terrified to try splitting everything as is without confirmation, though

Yeah it was but the screen indicates 2-8.

Well done, some interesting skills strategy on 2nd loop would have given you a more creditable 1.7-1.8million highscore if you had trigger the Gunbird train on stage 1-3.

Nice run and nice score at the end of 2-6. Did you practice on credits or did you use save states?

Thanks. I know the train but I didn't bother learning it since I wasn't really scoring much anyway.

Mostly saves but it's pretty painless to just spam normal runs after a while when the game is so short.

I've been trying to find this thread over the past couple of days when I recently discovered that HOG (Heart Of Gaming/North London) has this installed. Not sure long this game will remain @ HOG, but I will have a chat with Owner/Operator Mark to get the lowdown and make a few tweaks with the cab screen and joystick. Struggled to gets to grips with 2nd loop to make any serious high score attempt.

Have you not mastered to trigger the hidden Gunbird train on stage DORAMASCHER yet? That would give a more creditable score going into second loop
Youtube link if you reach Doramascher stage 1-4 you can take one of the three tanks before you hover the plane above the tree
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xet75zLgpfU
If you are using BF-109 then this trick is easy on stage 1-1 or 1-2, but stages 1-3 or 1-4 you need to charge your weapon before you start the stage and position the to destroy the top-right corner tank that gives you a gold bar. Practice mastering this trick first loop.

No, this was just a casual credit played recently. Thanks for the advice! If I ever trigger the train I'll use a savestate that starts me on Doramascher for Stage 1.

If you get that on stage 1 then you either fly your plane to the far left of screen and shoot enemy planes to pick up the 1st power up then hover above tree without shooting anything else until the train appears. There is a more technical way to gain 2 power up as the Gunbird train appears but you have to delay the timing of destroying the train and carriages.....easiest to do with Shinden and Spitfire.

Two ugly boss deaths in 1-7.. but still managed the 1-all. I am sure I ended the loop with over 800,000, but then when I gameovered in 2-1 (I have no clue how to deal with suicide bullets), I ended with LESS score? :? If I hadn't tried avoiding killing some planes to minimize suicide bullets I'd have taken first place for P-51 lol

chempop - 796,900 - 2-1 - P1 - PCB

[edit] while it would have been funny to have a score 100points less than first place, I broke 800,000 and almost got to 2-2

chempop - 866,900 - 2-1 - P1 - PCB

Watch this youtube replay to get an understanding of what to shoot and what to avoid.

^Cool, those are some nice replays, sadly that entire 2nd loop looks way beyond my ability for the time being.

two new scores with different ships:
P-38
chempop - 848,500 - 2-1 - P1 - PCB

Zero
chempop - 835,500 - 2-1 - P1 - PCB
