Even though I was rather confident early on as I didn't have too many stupid deaths, it defintely felt super tense at the end when I almost ran out of lives against the final boss. Me beaming it was a true desperation move to quickly end it all. Stage 6 is also one that I don't really know that well yet, whereas I more or less have bomb spots and routes in most of the other stages.

I am not sure I'll try to increase the score as scoring is not that fun in this game. The boss milking + RNG bonus stages where enemies can be like "Ivegottagodosomething, bye!" are not my cup of tea but it was still pretty cool going through this game once again. I find it pretty advanced despite its apparent simplicity, whether it is with the shot properties or the way you tackle enemy movements in general.

Of all the shmups I've cleared Metal Black is the only one that I cleared just once. But I will come back to it eventually.

After all these years (2013!!) I can finally say I've cleared the game. Feels pretty good. It's a little silly i never got it till now (my 400k ING score standing for so long), but I've been motivated recently and finally started practicing seriously instead of grinding full runs.

My first clear of the game had the absurd luck of I think 16 and 35 seconds being my bonus time clears. I don't think I'll ever be that lucky again. Unfortunately that clear (which you can see in the image above) was recorded in too low of quality to be good to upload, so I did the crazy thing and practiced for a second clear! This run had so many mistakes it's comical to think I ended up beating a previous 500k+ score. I had 0 lives for stage 5 and 6!

Kind of want to see if I can get 600k, but I don't know if I will.

Welcome aboard ING-san. It's a screwy game, ain't it. Capricious on score and fiendish in design, yet eccentrically comfy if you can marshal the fat shot and rather tsundere bombing system. Stages 5 and 6 with no backup lives sounds intense.

GG and also impressive score! that stage 5 and 6 survival has so many close calls.

Related tho, but me and M.Knight will do a survival battle live somewhere after may 15th this year. Here's the teaser poster ha.

This event was pretty fun! Despite weaker survival performance I also managed to get a small PB score during it which is always nice.

Congrats MKnight, especially on breaking 500k in the game. That's a pretty good benchmark imo. I'd love 600k myself but that would require a lot more in figuring out the couple of boss milking opportunities. Glad you guys could have such a nice event.
