Had to play a credit of this after recieving that awsome NMK shirt.

Also, the High Score Board Index still links to Drago's old board.

drboom - 2,651,720 - stage 7 - P1 - PCB

Got a new high - not much higher than my old, but it moves me up a few places. :) Got to work on stage 7 a lot more as well as stage 8, but it only took me a few plays for stage 6 and the boss. Hoping for the clear soon!

Thanks, I'm really proud of it! I was at the second huge turret with the "bonus" planes that drop the powerups. So, pretty close to the boss. But that boss is so stupidly hard, I don't think I'd be able to clear unless I no-missed up to him :/

I'd stream but I don't think my new computer can stream very well. I might give it a shot soon, but I don't expect much.

That's about the same place where I died iirc. And yes, you probably need to no miss up to the last boss for the 1cc. With a careful bomb distribution I think it's in reach (for both of us!). Man, I really need to get that PCB. NMK is such an awesome company. :)

I was just practicing the last stage earlier on max rank, and I was able to 1-miss the last stage, including the boss. So 1 miss at least is ok, as long as it's early enough that you can have lots of bombs for the last boss. Should definitely be possible to no-miss the last stage and boss, the boss is deceiving. He's actually not too bad if you've enough bombs and are willing to figure out how to properly dodge his patterns.

Right now I'm having a surprising amount of trouble with stage 7. I always blew it off as pretty easy, but maybe those were just lucky flukes. Too many enemies from behind in weird places...

I think I need to practice stages 6 and 7 now, mostly. I can get to stage 6 in nearly every run I do now :D

Got this a month and a half ago but wanted to improve it a bit so I would actually move up a spot. Haven't been playing this much, though, so I'll just throw this score up:

Just watch out for the laser and the sets of fast aimed bullets - they don't give much warning but they're very predictable. Don't be afraid to bomb if you get trapped by the flamethrowers. Overall I think it's actually easier than the stage 2 boss as long as you know what to expect.

thanks for the advice. my only problem so far is that I've been cranking the rank so hard and it's almost unbearable (for me) by the end of stage 3.

gonna have to study up a bit and possibly watch some youtube vids before my next set of runs

Rank is just survival time in this. iirc rank maxes in stage 6 or so

ah.. so if stage 3 is harder (I've noticed varying difficulty) it's likely due to a no miss more so than using/hoarding bombs or scoring well? I've also been trying to figure out if destroying boss parts yields more points, and I haven't been able to tell with the s1 boss (sometimes I kill it with one wing still in tact but I haven't noticed much of a scoring difference)

Yes, I think you're right!

But you can control a little bit the difficulty expending more time killing the enemies. Faster killing speed = More enemies = More points.

Regards!
