Trigonometry Wars 4 V1.5

Post by Giest118 »

Gonna post up one of these for this game right here.

The game has six modes of play (if you include every difficulty) so it won't surprise me if some of these remain kind of barren. But here we go anyway!

Submission string is like this:

Name - Score - Stage - Mode - Ship - Slowdown

Where Mode is one of the following: Easy, Original, Insanity, Ultra, Arrange, Death Label

And Slowdown is whether the game slowed down on your computer at certain points. There's only one place in the entire game where slowdown is actually intentional, and it's during the final attack in Death Label. Ideally there won't be slowdown anywhere else. I don't really care about this personally, but I know some people might, so you can note whether you got slowdown sometimes. If you don't note it, I will assume there was no slowdown.

For Arrange mode, put Ship C in for the Ship field.

Examples:

Giest118 - 325,000,000 - 7 - Easy - Ship A - No
Giest118 - 200,000,000 - 6 - Arrange - Ship C - Yes
Giest118 - 125,000,000 - 6 - Death Label - Ship B - No

And now, the tables!

This death label is so addicting... You should remove continues from every mode, it makes the game addicting as hell since you HAVE to actually beat it to see the awesome ultra boss patterns

Cagar - 98,689,610 - 5 - Death Label - Ship A - No

I only get slowdown when the bullets turn into stars, but that doesn't count right?

Nope. That's a weird quirk of Game Maker when huge numbers of collisions happen. It'd be extremely rare for it to actually happen in such a way that it makes a given pattern easier.

Am I an asshole for also participating, as the game's creator? Probably. But then, that just makes it more challenging for you all. :V

Video of this run incoming once Youtube processes it.

i considered putting myself in with a *. instead of a number (so if you were supposed to be 2nd place it'd be "1. *. 2. 3.") but i don't make games so ignore me

Just two more people and Death Label will have a full score board!

I can only hope that one or two of the other boards will get nearly as much love. :V

I'm gonna get the ball rolling on a different scoreboard...

Giest118 - 174,661,470 - 7 - Arrange - Ship C - No

Gonna post up a video of this and you will see exactly how annoying this run was. My greatest weakness is that I am shit at manual bombs. :V

Updated.

And here is the run I mentioned previously:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TmNE0n8rPo
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU4tQwy7Zgk

Perfect of the first two stages was nice. Dying everywhere else was lame.

Enigma- 311,611,700 - Stage 7 Boss 3- original- B- No

Should have had it, but completely had some dumb deaths at stage 7, and one at stage 5. It still shows up as an All on my scoreboard, but obviously that's not the case.

It's an All because you did technically 1cc through the whole regular game. If you had beaten the TLB, it would show up as ALL!

Actually, that's a thing worth considering. How do we write this case on the scoreboards? I went with "7 EX Boss" for now.

Sonova >_<! I was so close to the last boss, too. Died during the tricky sine wave scroll section. My best progress to date, anyway.

Learn something new every day. I wasn't sure it was even possible to get to stage 7 without the second score extend. :V

I was pretty liberal with my bombs. I decided that I would use them whenever I felt like I was losing control of the situation, rather than waiting until just before I was about to get hit. This strategy seemed to work out well for me, as I was able to retain pretty good composure for most of the run. I struggled most when I got to the latter stages that I hadn't practiced as often.
