You may have a good score with your ship, but the scoreboard only holds the best scores depending on what SHIP is chosen. So therefore, your score is much lower than AST-DGN had, since he uses Dino 135 more than your Windina, in case you didn't see most of the entire 'Blazing Star' scoreboard.

West (Character): Enhasa - 3.071.618 - ALL - Kim - 35 max hit
Please add in the comment "level 8" for this score, is important, because world score is on level 4. In this game there is a difference in score if you use max difficult.

Mad Shark: 3 players have 10.000.000+ : SCHMEISER-ROBOCOP, 近エからの使者, FLAP-ANP

West: The_Pro - 2.794.740 - ALL. A better score is available in you tube from a french player (suricate): http://www.youtube.com/user/suricate198 ... ZQj-Ks3hmk
in 1999 I perform a better score, but I not have a photo or correct score (3.xxx.xxx), so for now Suricate win the west title on this game.

LUN's score was on Twin Cobra II, but I'll list both versions as I did with other Toaplan titles. I have the Twin Cobra II record as well.

Re: multiple counter-stop listings: I feel like listing all of the players who have counter-stopped Tatsujin, etc. would be kind of pointless, but maybe giving credit to the first one to do it would be appropriate. If such information exists, please let me know.

Re: Touhou scores: I'm leaving them off for the time being but will link to the wiki that lists the records. Moozoh, thanks for going to the trouble of formatting them, but I feel like we should focus on getting a comprehensive East vs West record list for arcade titles before adding console and PC stuff.

A bit off-topic but... has anyone actually counterstopped Tatsujin? Does it even stop? Japanese listings usually cap these types of games off at 10,000,000 or so.

Not exactly. He plays on a MAME cab, and one of the games (I don't remember what it was, probably Cyvern) had significant slowdown on it. The rest of his scores are considered legit, I think it was Shatterhand who vouched for this guy's abilities.

10.000.000+a is not counter stop, but "達成" (achievement). In japan not exist a official marathon score, so only the first people that obtain achivement is the top player for a multi loops game. In Tatsujin 11 players have obtained the achievement in january 1989.

Real counter stop is 100.000.000 pts and is possible in about 33/35 hours, this is possible only at home with supergun or mame, not in game center. I know 3 players that in 33h have obtained counter stop in june 2006 (but are 3 players together to turn and not a single player).

My scores are:
Thunder Blaster - 3,218,690
Lethal Thunder - 4,244,400 (all)

Lethal Thunder is easier, but harder to get higher scores.

Chomsky, Buckminster Fuller, Yunus and Glass would have played Battle Garegga, for sure.

I thought the holder of counterstop/multi-loop+α record scores wasn't the first guy who reached that score but rather the guy who was able to reach it soonest in the game? i.e. - if the existing record is 10M+α at 3-4 and someone makes the same score at 3-3, then they're the new WR holder. Or does the criteria vary from title to title?

That sounds correct to me - with multi-loop counter-stop games, the speed in attaining the achievement is the generally accepted separating criteria.

In Gamest / Arcadia top score in multi loops games is the first player with 10.000.000+a. If in the next month appear a new player with the same score obtained in less stage, this performance not appear on the magazine.

exemple: Tatsujin ou, official score is 10.000.000 by MID涼に感謝SPK(お)1000万3回目 in date 30-3-1999 (loop 8-2). But in november 2009 SOF-WTN perform the same score with loop 7-4, but this not appear on arcadia magazine.

All your games are hard and popular. You gotta play games that are easier and crappier. Some of these Western records seem to be up-for-grabs if anyone wants to feel like a king. I am, after all, champion of such gems as Storm Blade and Fire Barrell.

I doubt any of the experts here with a little bit of time would have any problems beating that score.
And I won't touch Type Z at all, on any mode. Actually thought about taking on Unlimited with Type I, but that's for another time.

I think my problem is that I like variety, so I get bored quickly, and jump around games a lot. I only ever play a game to a point, then move on once I'm satisfied I've achieved a decent level of play at it. If I still had the drive to play a game for as long as I did Garegga - 1yr+ on it, and it alone - I'd have probably smashed the likes of Batrider Advanced and Batsugun Special long ago.
Some good scores from everyone on this records list though, some of them very difficult to beat. That Parodius Da! AC score won't last long with saucykobold and sikraiken lurking around.

Will console and handheld be added at some point? Or is that for another thread?

@Icarus
How about having a score battle for Batrider Advanced? I'm not motivated enough on my own and DMC seems to have vanished (?). Let's finally push that western score to some respectable limit. It's such a shame that it's still that low after all those years. Plus we finally have some good replays, showing all the strats we need.

Got an update to post for Trigon:

ResumeDPosition - 1,978,490 - ALL - Autofire ON

I have a snapshot if you need it, didn't record an inp since this came out of a practice run and I honestly didn't think it was much necessary seeing the apparent 1 Mil gap between mine and the WR...really need to figure out where that difference comes from.
