Rules
- Life stock, extends and difficulty settings on default.
- Rapid fire scores are kept in separate tables, except for the Arrange Mode table. Include rapid fire settings if you used rapid fire options on the PS2 version (A+ and C+ settings, known on the PS2 option screen as RAPID SHOT and RAPID FULLAUTO, respectively). If you used some kind of rapid fire setup to play on a PCB, just indicate so.
- No-rapid-fire tables : only use the stock buttons A (shot), B (bomb) and C (full auto).

Code: Select all

No-rapid-fire entry key : NAME SCORE STAGE (LxX for ALL scores) VERSION / ON or OFF (MAX)
Rapid fire entry key : NAME SCORE STAGE (LxX for ALL scores) [A+X, C+X]
**If submitting a score for 1.5, replace version with ON or OFF for Max Mode.

If you cleared the game, LxX is the number of spare lives you had. For example, Lx0 indicates you cleared the game without any spare life.

PROMETHEUS' has decided to resign from managing this board so I'll be running it now. I can add a section for 1.5 if you guys think it's better to have it in this thread instead of its own. It probably is better that way because not many people are playing it anyhow.

So go ahead and submit 1.5 scores if you like, with the proper formatting.

sven, I heard you ask for someone to check the arcades for the top saved scores for 1.5, and at HEY, the top score for Maniac/no max is 9 billion. You've got your work cut out for you.

You should definitely split MAX and regular 1.5 leaderboards. They're really 2 both very different for every mode.

Anyway I'd love to submit my own score for this given how much time I've spent playing this in arcades but I'm still pretty shit. Really hope they announce a port soon. I need my practice modes and restartitis.

Finally got something decentish. Some real shitty play in stages 1-4 but I no-missed stage 5 so whatever.

1.5 Original:
GUS - 29,938,228 - ALL (Lx1) - no MAX/ no autofire

For all the frustrations I've been having in the arcades during this vacation I have to say it's an amazing feeling to clear a game in an arcade setting.

Nice job. And yeah, MAX is pretty difficult. Farthest I've gotten in that stage 5 mid-boss. I got down a pretty decent route for stages 1-3 but the 2nd half of stage 4 is just brutal with high rank.

For those who have played both the PCB and the PS2 port: is rank in Original supposed to increase so rapidly? For me it maxes out around the first score extend, which happens as early as stage 2 score tally if I try to score, and somewhere by stage 3 boss if I actually avoid scoring (like going pacifist in most parts of stage 1). It feels much harder than anything I'd encountered in Futari 1.5 Original which I have no trouble clearing, and none of Futari shot types are as good as S/formation. Maybe there is some crucial slowdown that is missing in the port?

I don't know about slowdown but Mushi1 original is indeed harder than Futari. This is why I've wanted to try Futari 1.01... Argh!

1.5 Original Xbox 360
SPZ - 113,920,542 - Stage 4 - MAX

I don't think it's that hard for pure survival, but I don't know any safe ways of pointblanking things yet so I'm dying all over the place. Looking for 200m+ on the initial clear. This mode really seems awesome so far. Anyone else messed with this yet?

I didn't realize that you could point-blank enemies to leech gems in this mode, like in Original Max. The main difference is that there isn't a counter (that I know of) to drive up the rank/gem value, so I can see scores going over 100m for people who are serious about it.

First credit into this, total cakewalk next to Max.

1.5 Original Xbox 360
163,951,829 - SPZ - Stage 4 - Max

One of these credits, everything will go right and I'll jump straight to 250-300m. Maybe. :P

Anyone get anywhere with Maniac modes yet? I'm seriously clueless as to what I should be doing there.

I'm playing Maniac MAX, it's hard, I keep getting killed by the scarab beetles, I'm not used to there being groups of three! EOJ said something about using the custom rapid settings 1-4, but I think it depends on which shot type... I'm really just playing for survival right now.

I'm really liking M-type shot, kinda funny because I never used it in standard Mushi.

Well after a couple go's I decided to fiddle with button tapping to improve my maniac score. It worked.
Not really sure what I'm doing yet, but tapping A most of the time seems to help, sometimes I tap C for no good reason, and when I'm in trouble I hold C & A+ which obviously does the most damage. Ugh, I'll understand this better some day lol
