I am pretty sure that you can't counterstop with Solo Bang, but if someone in Japan did it (after 2006 or so), I am not aware of it. I think that only the top scores on Grimlen and Miyamoto are counterstops.

Too Lazy to check the WRs, to be fair.
Chomsky, Buckminster Fuller, Yunus and Glass would have played Battle Garegga, for sure.

Crazy how close that score is to the WR. Go for it, man.

Getting a counterstop with Grimlen is just mind-boggling. How the hell do you even survive the final boss fight with such a slow ship?

What a punch to the nuts I truly thought SoloBang was counterstop material

There is not that much to improve i believe, but I am clue less as to what. There is no grimlen replay on the net for now I have hit a wall.

It's gotta be a skill gap. If Grimlen can counterstop I can't figure out why anyone but Birthday and probably Karte/Chitta wouldn't be able to as well.

(Are there records for the secret characters too or just the main four?)

The last digit is 3. You creditfed. Doesn't the final digit increase by 1 when you continue?

EDIT: I just confirmed this via MAME. It does. Someone cheated.

That actually makes his score even more impressive then, considering it resets when you continue. Could've reached 90+ millions - and possibly break the WR.

But yeah, that score is invalid. Sorry.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time a game has some rare circumstance that gives scores in the first digits, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Anyway, congrats to the wicked scores, I guess I'm no longer the only swede who plays(or rather played) this seriously.

Maybe he just made a typo while printing the score? I really don't see what he have to gain from submitting a fake score when he already had the western record.

I myself thought the last 3 digits of the score were pretty irrelevant hence I didnt even bother and that they get rounded(yes I thought they did) well I was wrong .. anyway here I did another run not quite as perfected anyway here is my proof pardon my bad camera.

Hope this clears up everything

Three cheers for this storm in a teapot ;)

I am thinking that you could work on completing the items' list. By this point, an 80M+ score is well within your reach. If you feel corageous, you may move to Grimlen for the counterstop.
