Holy shit that's an excellent score! I'll be a bit busy for the next few days, but expect this score to be beaten soon. :)

Now let's max this shit out, Plasmo! 8)
Let's go!

Your Absorb replay desynchs for me...
After seeing your post, I let the replay play in the background. It didn't desynch but gave a slightly higher score at the end. This suggested to me that some necessary data is not included in the replay and/or the processor speeds for recording and for playback are assumed to be the same though they may not be in practice. So I benchmarked the replay of each score I've posted. Results as follows

Code: Select all

                avg fps
set1 absorb: 55.83
set1 chain: 56.62
set1 massacre: 56.56
set2 massacre: 57.13
The Set 2 Massacre framerate works out to 95% speed, the Absorb score a mere 93%. While MARP requires games be played at 90% speed or better, I think that's too generous. As the maintainer of this board, the decision is ultimately yours, but I'd suggest removing my Set 1 scores as all were achieved at less than 95% speed. The removal of the Set 2 Massacre score I leave entirely at your discretion and assure you that my feelings won't be hurt either way. It was not my intent to gain a higher score by playing an easier game. I simply didn't know that my computer couldn't quite keep up with XOP.

Frame rate dropping shouldn't be affecting scores at all.

I replayed your Absorb replay and it didn't descync, and I also got a slightly higher score. My PC is more than capable of running XOP at full speed.

This is a replay issue for sure. I am not sure exactly what is causing it, though.

I'd like to know how you benchmarked the replays, seeing as the frame rate intentionally slows down when there's a lot of stuff on screen.

The final score I got was 135,803,665

@inc

I won't remove any of your scores, over 90% is absolutely alright. It's nice to simply have more scores on the tables and yours don't seem impossible to beat or anything. Feel free to post more!

Set 1 - Massacre - Medium
Plasmo - 100,888,167 - ALL (TLB) - Spread Laser/Plasma - Replay

Haha, didn't expect it to happen that quickly, but there they are - 100mill in Massacre Medium. Enjoy the replay.

Damn, so fast!
My score attack scores also let me think that 100 is possible. Some slight strategy adjustments should help, too. But let me watch that replay first. ;)

Some diversion before I try to shoot for the 100 mill in Set 1

Set 2 - Massacre - Medium
Battletoad - 110,637,429 - ALL (TLB) - Spread Laser/Plasma - Replay

Still died in stage 3, it's like a curse. At least this time very early in the stage, so it didn't cost me nearly as much as before.

Set 1 - Massacre - Medium
Battletoad - 98,485,342 - ALL (TLB) - Spread Laser/Plasma - Replay

First credit in a while (in this mode/diff). Totally forgot my strategy for the stage 4 boss and died. Would have been 99 mill or at least close. I think I can do this.
