The second loop is hilariously difficult.

Haven't quite got my throne back, but at least it's a respectable score. Fuck that 2-2 boss!

Alright, I reconsidered and decided to go for that 2-ALL! After tinkering a bit more with savestates I found out that Pop'n TwinBee isn't quite as difficult as the second loop of PCE Detana!! if you adhere to a strict bomb management plan (use four on the 2-2 boss, two on the 2-3 boss, four during specific sections in 2-4 and so on and so forth), stoically refresh your shield and bombs all the time and stay focused through the monumental running time. There are a few very helpful and simple strategies during trickier sections and in a few others you just have to grit your teeth and take the hits even if you lose your shield and a few of your options. The most important thing is that you have to bomb the recurring mid-boss before the final boss into oblivion, you're not going to survive all this nonsense without five bombs or so. Third loop is plain silly, everything spews out tons of fast bullets and retaliates in a similar manner.

And I think that's it for my 16-bit journey! Got all the loops in all the games I wanted. :) Will repeat the SFC Sonic Wings 2-ALL if I can finally get an autofire controller that works and I also might toss in a better Cosmo Gang score while I'm at it, but other than that, I'm done.

I'm also expecting some colossal score from you now, Blinge. Image

Now that this is on Nintendo Switch Online, a lot of folks have access to this game. Let me be the first to post a score because of that!

Done on a 5-hour flight. That means I got to experience that hour-long stage 4 three whole times!

This is a very charming and enjoyable game. Length is a bit of an issue (I think an hour for the loop, if I'm not mistaken)
Gettin' sad reading Perikles' post above mine.
