Finally cleared this bad boy. Hardly an impressive score, but I'm immensely glad nonetheless. :) I shall revisit this game at some point in time!

Decided to give Grind Stormer a whirl. Despite being technically a tad bit easier than V-V, it's much, much scarier on account of no shield. I'm going to stick to V-V in the future, otherwise I might die of a heart attack.

Thanks, Leandro! It was great fun to clear this game once I got over the initial hurdle. At first the game seemed almost impossible, but memorization works wonders. I doubt I would've tried to beat both loops without your shining example – I'm much obliged! :)

Nice score.
How many lives did you lost in your run ?
I Finally got the 2All when I played it but without beating my score. Too many lives lost.

Not played Grindstormer a lot. It is more difficult than V-V for me.

I lost one life against the final boss in the second loop (mostly due to nerves), other than that I was able to no-miss the game. There were many close calls, though. The fourth boss is especially terrifying the second time around - definitely the hardest part in the game for me.

Phenomenal game, will definitely go for the 2-ALL sooner or later. Don't know if I'll do it just yet since I'm feeling like jumping from game to game right now, but I will return! Top 5 material for my next list for sure. :)

Makes me wish I could go back in time and recorded my 2-ALL no miss.......actually not when cheap recordings were made on VHS.

Yes! I just had to get the 2-ALL before moving on. Settled for playing it conservative in the second loop, always trying to have a shield in reserve instead of going for the bonus, and it paid off. Lost two lives in the final stage on the second loop (one in an incredibly stupid manner out of nervousness), but I'm immensely satisfied with the result. Will upload the video soon - and I most definitely will try for a perfect second loop later down the road, this game hits all the right notes for me.

Edit: here's the video.

I was wrong about the missiles in the port. Under the conditions that you pick up two speed-ups (else you're not going to have the mobility to cover the entire screen) and use bombs with reckless abandon (since you can't reliably dodge some patterns with said speed-ups in this version) you can put them to great use, actually. Some otherwise really resilient mid-bosses can be killed in an instant if you use a bomb for invincibility and move all your missile pods inside them. Most bosses definitely require the Shot to be killed in a reasonable amount of time, though. Lastly, you can finish this port with an obscene amount of points if you manage to no-miss the entire thing, I quickly played through this on an emulator and got a score of over 60m there. It's way too finicky to replicate this in a real run in my opinion, though.

Looks like I've cleared two loops (if applicable) in every 16-bit Toaplan shooter except for all the Daisenpuus. Doesn't matter what you do, can't defeat the Daisenpuu. I'm not even vexed about that, it's just how it is.

Err, do you mean 167%? One loop is 100%, though your score seems a bit low for 167... I put it in as 167%, I'll get back to it soon.

...Can you get 1M by that point...? I've never seen that much. Seems too low for 162%, seems too high for 62%. Oh well.

Not sure how the 7 became a 2, but it's a 2 now.

Such a clutch clear, I was completely at the end of my nerves when reaching 2-6, even positioned my missiles on the wrong side at the beginning. Love this game so much, hopefully I can manage to no-miss one of those versions at some point. :o

Ugh, nomiss perfect up to the last phase of the stage 5 boss, where nerves got to me and I meandered into a bullet. Still ended up with a 1CC though, even after a series of really stupid deaths in stage 6... Not sure if I'll keep going for loop 2, but I really want to get that 5M perfect bonus for the first loop, it feels so close...

Nomiss perfect through the first loop and the first score I've ever been proud of in any game! Got so excited that I completely dropped the ball early in 2-1 and ended up not making it to 2-2. I've never seen beyond 2-2, so not much lost in terms of scoring. Still not sure if I want to take on loop 2 for real or move on to a different game. Any suggestions?

Wasn't expecting to get the clear tonight and didn't save a replay, I should really just record every session...

Just got started playing the PCB, and found that it's super hard in VV mode, and a little easier in Bomber mode - however, almost no one appears to play in Grindstormer mode here. Is there a reason for that? I frankly want to play the "more enjoyable" version first to avoid getting frustrated and quit halfway through, given the game is already hard as nails.

Grind Stormer is actually quite a bit harder, to offset the fact that you have bombs. It's a miserable game to play compared to V V, and feels like a weird prototype more than a complete game.
