Reached the last boss for the first time. Stage 7 itself doesn't seem to be too hard. I'm having more trouble with the stage 6 boss...

The next score I will post is 40mill+ and a 1cc.

Since the 360 easily lets me save each replay, I'll definitely upload it to Youtube once I'm done. I'm not too sure what my goal is right now though...

Goal reached! Got to the last stage with no miss and still lots of bombs in stock, so I played it safe and used them all. Died once at the last boss.

Yes, Arcade difficulty. On top of that I've found out, that I was playing on 60fps all the time, while the game originally runs with 54fps... And I was wondering why the game felt so much harder when I was playing myself compared to the superplay...

You can change the framerate in the options. The game feels like easy mode for me now. :lol: Definitely expect another score on 54fps. I can score a lot better now.

Yeah, I wish I had RFA myself, I'd definitely be game for a run. Either way it'll be great to see some actual Arcade-difficulty RF1 vids on YouTube, I tried to find some good-quality vids of RF1 and couldn't find many at all let alone ones that weren't on Easy/Normal.

Quite a solid run scoringwise including getting all the miclus. 48mill should be possible with my current strategies, but scoring gets rather anal from here on.

I did no miss the game before, but during this particular credit I've lost one life. Deaths don't matter anyway in this game.

Learned quite a lot of advanced scoring strategies and pulled it off together in one run. This run was good, but not flawless. I've lost around 600k due to missed bonusses, so I'm gonna shoot for 51mill from now on. I'm not too sure if I can make it and I'm already rather satisfied with 50mill, but I will try. If I don't get 51mill within 2 weeks I'll upload the replay for this credit and move on to the next game.

That was quick! Made close to no mistakes during this credit. Maybe one or two missed "destroyed at a time" bonusses, but that's about it.

Quality isn't the best, but I don't care.

Why do the regular and the Slave ships have different highscore tables in the opnening post btw? I can see how it makes sense for RF2 and RFJ, because the Slave is much more superior than all the other ships, but in RF, Judge Spear has a much higher scoring potential than the Slave. If I would've played with JS, my score would easily be around 52mill, by doing the exact same things.

It is for that consistency, but I do want to separate by ship eventually. Of course, the slaves would be grouped together, unless there's something I'm missing.

Really nice job, by the way. Didn't think anyone would ever come back to this game.

Having individual tables for each ship would actually be quite a good idea and would increase the incentive to play with different ships.

I'd also suggest having one table for the slaves. The only difference between them is the speed. I can't see a reason to select a slower one though. Speed is everything in this game.

Hey Despatche - Maybe it's worth noting in the first post here that on the 360 port, 'normal' difficulty is a little easier than the arcade board's 'normal'. You need to play the 360 port on 'arcade' difficulty to match the PCB. (EDIT: I see BPzeBanshee alluded to it above)

Also, would you consider including 360 port 'normal' scores in a separate table in this thread? No worries if not, but if so, I've got a score for ya!

And I will get on with arcade difficulty soon!

I did make it to the Stage 4 boss on a different run, but didn't get as high a score. I think RF is actually the hardest of the series - Stage 3 in this feels on a par with Stage 6 in Raiden Fighters 2.

If I remember correctly, it wasn't over 50mill. Around 48-49mill maybe.
