Updated. Sorry for being slow, feel free to PM me if I'm lagging behind on the updates.

Well done DrunkHobo, you can't be so inebriated with a score that grand.

Whoa, what happened to this game. I downloaded it on another device and the soundtrack is a wretched assault on my ears. Where did the original soundtrack go? Did they somehow lose the rights to it? o_0

After banjoted singing the praises of Espy 2 iOS' Smartphone Mode I thought I'd better give it a go (partly because I wanted to beat him!). And I agree with him; I think Smartphone mode is the best reappropriation of a shmup for a touchscreen device.

And here's my score:

Image

spadgy - iPhone mode - Asagi - 443,979,450 - ALL

EDIT: Oh - and Skykid - I think the current position number two spot (prior to adding my score) in iPhone mode needs a bit of editing  ...

I went for the arcade mode only. The smartphone versions appeared too passive and even easier. I like how the more free and precise controls on iOS allows me to to play with harder bullet patterns otherwise it's too easy to be interesting.

I do agree that the button adaptation is a lot harder and more unnatural as compared with the original arcade game, but you can master the full controls option, which is necessary to get high scores using zesshinkai. The hardest thing is switching your shot on and off at the the right time.

Does the smartphone version have much challenge to it beyond pure scoring? Wondering if I should buy that version as well.

Here is mine:

Goompaolo9500 (Eclalé) - Arcade Mode - Ageha - 203,243,378 - ALL

Notes:Almost No Miss. Rank in 2nd for this topic. 1st if I no miss in all stages. But oh well. I just survived well at least the final attack.

Edit:
Please Update my score.

Goompaolo9500 (Eclalé) - Arcade Mode - Ageha - 215,257,754 - ALL

Goompaolo9500 (Eclalé) - iPhone Mode - Ageha - 249,862,011 - ALL

Notes:This time, No Miss in Arcade Mode. Almost no miss this time for SmartPhone/iPhone Mode. The best part in Smartphone/iPhone Mode that in Stage 2 I got 2 extends at once. And I used wisely with the special laser at the final attack of the last boss in Arcade Mode.

Expected Ranking:
Arcade Mode:1ST
iPhone Mode:6TH

Note, please rename iPhone mode with SmartPhone Mode Next Time.

At this rate, I won’t be interested into shmups anymore. I am no longer going to be active in this forum from now on. I am more interested into Kemono Friends, rhythm games, D4DJ, Puzzle Games, Hololive, and Pretty Cure.

Farewell.

Goompaolo9500 - Arcade Mode - Ageha - ALL - 320,493,445

Deathless... I did not lost a life during the whole game.

Absolute Awakening when holding the awakening perception button is the cause of getting this kind of score. That 500x though, particularly happened just in time when beating the last bosses.
