Hey, another ALL 8)

This game aint that hard, its just that "jet fighters up your arse" section that's a bastard (which is where i am now :( )

might as well post this for now:

Mero - 614,200 - area 135

Looks like you get a million point bonus at the end of the game

Yeah, must be.

My score is from an arcade in the late 80s (The Strand Arcade - London), so I don't remember, but I've gotta guess that you'd have 1,614,200 at the destruction of the Last True Boss Mr Mero 8)

Yeah thought so. Initially when i saw your ALL score i thought the game was a lot longer, then i realised i was nearly at the end. I'll have another crack at it in the next day or two

Yeah, it is that jet fighters section, and then the final enemy.. then 1 million more points.

Done it!

Mero - 1,598,050 - ALL

This was a pretty atrocious run with 2 deaths on level 3 but still managed to get the ALL. The end of game bonus meant that I finished the game with 16 lives in stock

Cheers, I didnt beat yours or DEL scores but I'm satisfied enough

To score high in this game I reckon you'd have to no miss no bomb the game up until the jet fighter section, then destroyy all the jets and then suicide on the boss, repeat until your on your last life and then kill the boss. I reckon you could add another 80-90k to your score by doing this, maybe more assuming you'd trigger an extend while doing it.

There's also some checkpoint milking potential with some bosses in the game, though it probably wouldn't be worth it

3 plays and I've beat my previous score.
It was a bad run too, but with the crazy amount of extends you get.. it doesn't matter. I milked the end to my last life too.

Looks like you can get 11,000 on each life at the end.

The world record is 2,055,500 (although this is pretty old, could have been beaten since).

Actually you can get about 15k on the final section if you wait and bomb the yellow missiles over and over and then suicide.
There seems to be better sections in the game which can be milked too.

Am trying to do a No Miss run first, then I'll try for a good score.

I've done a No Miss run now, so I'll do the milking shortly.. the game just takes so long to complete.

(yeah I played safe and had an extra life spare)
Prolly could get to about 1.90m with my current milkings, must be some other area to drop lives near the end...

Heavy scores lads :) , and that world record is seriously massive, I didn't expect it to be that big. The thought that you could score much more than 1.7m just hadn't entered my head. I'll have to see if I can boost my own score, I dont fancy facing Dragon Bat on minimum shot power much though

Maybe the submarine boss can be milked too, if it doesn't time out for a while

Glad to see a new thread for this - I've got the (tiny) PCB, and never felt too compelled to play it. This thread should change all that - I'll try and hit it up next week!

Played 2 credits the other day and came up with this

Mero - 1,708,000 - ALL

Pretty crap but at least I broke 1.7m, I'll improve it later. One thing I've noticed about this game is that sometimes some power ups don't appear. I had 3 not appear in this run, costing me 3000 points :(

I never thought I'd beat this game but suddenly I managed to erk out a good fight. With auto-fire and in MAME no less (Japan region if it matters). I guess I can thank my departure in Toaplan for this.

Ok - I wasn't exactly very good on my previous promise, but we just installed this board at Casino Arcade in London. Testing the install I just got this on the only full credit I played, but I'll be back for much, much more. This game is so much more fun played on a cab!

Hopefully making public a score so awfully low will encourage me to go back and improve! I'm pretty sure I can do better than this!

Me and CHI went head to head on this tonight, and here's our new scores. I won't bother with a photo now because we're meeting for a new showdown on this at the arcade tomorrow, and hope to have new scores to post! If we don't better ourselves I'll add a photo here.

But for now, a very rare case of me being ahead of CHI...

spadgy - 510,600 - area 118
CHI - 463,500 - area 101

We'll be back!
