well, since my PS2's being a ho, i'll probably come back to this once i'm satisfied with my Under Defeat shit :)

Well that´s some serious work...
I could almost reach my old Apache score twice, but improving is extremely hard. I can hardly get more points in the first loop, so I would have to get to stage 2-2. That´s nearly impossible for me (I did it once with the Apache and a lot of luck, but not with a good score).

I slightly improved my score with the Comanche, but still no 2nd place yet.

Finally...
It was painful and took some more runs, but I could now take the 2nd place with Comanche, too. :D
That´s it with this heli, I never really liked Comanche from the start. I mean, it´s the best looking helicopter and the lasers are also cool, but the attack power is a little too weak.

Yay I also played with the Hokum yesterday and finally could make a no miss run in the 1st loop and get to 2-2! So my main goal in this game is done. :D

I think I´ll upload my replay soon... Stage 2-1 (Submergence City) was quite "funny" when I came in a situation where it was much too dangerous to kill the enemies and I had to go in circles around them. Somehow I survived that and lost my first to lives on the second part of the boss. Then came Marine Base as 2-2 (I hate this stage...), but surprisingly I survived it and even the midboss. Ironically I lost my other two lives on the boss when crashing into the small helicopters. I had forgotten them and not changed my tactics there for the 2nd loop. But nontheless 130,000 better then before, so I won´t complain at all.

Battletoad - 1,730,550 - 2-2 - Hokum

Score was 1.55 million after the 1st loop. So when I play with the Apache (enough motivation after the recent successes ;) ) where I get a quite similar score, I also need to get to stage 2-2.

I took a photo now before my Comanche scores maybe get out of the list.

I can´t really handle Apache in the 2nd loop. I think I need a bit luck and/or I must survive the first loop with 3 or 4 lives. Unfortunately Marine Base was stage 2-1 this time. :?
But all in all I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel...

It was in stage 1-6 when I realised that this could be it. No lives lost till then and the score was also much better than before. My adrenalin level was reeeally high from that point on...
I died once on the final boss, but could milk him better than ever. 597,000 points in the final stage. 2-1 (Submergence City) was ok (sometimes lucky), one death in the stage and another one one the second boss part. In 2-2 (Alpine Armored Train) the overwhelming amount of helicopters soon got me killed.

I had beaten the game before but I hadn't noticed the default DC setting was 4.
Now I played in 5 (Arcade), and it's noticeably more difficult. I don't remember any 2nd loop suicide bullets in diff. 4. :?

Should I keep on playing? Nah.....
