Normal high score thread.
This is a challenge for all that want to do it. Double-play Rapid Hero and get the highest score possible. The offset part's too gimmicky, so I'll decide to drop that aspect in favor of normal double-play.
Please submit in this format:
Name - P1 Score - P2 Score - Stage - Comment (optional)
Offset and totals will be calculated by me, though you can calculate them and submit them with the entry if you want to.
Code: Select all
NO / Name / P1 Score / P2 Score / Stage / Total / Comment (up to 32 characters)

I like the idea so I'll toss up my horrible score:
bkk - 318,700 - 318,490

This seems like fun. I just got about 100k with 1300 offset on one of my first runs, and will see if I can get a respectable score.
Are you all using autofire? It's tough to keep tapping A all the time, but maybe that's part of the challenge.

I think autofire would be the most comfortable way to go for all players willing to take on this challenge.
Though someone can post on the comment portion of the scoreboard whether or not someone used autofire or not.

Ok, using autofire now. It does make control easier, but real finesse will take more practice. My current strategy: keep scores close, and hope that the first side to lose all ships is leading when that happens. If so, carefully increase the score of the remaining player, and suicide when as close as possible.

Autofire mapped to every directional button
bkk - 977,890 - 977,910

Freakin' DAMN, you're good. Maybe I should map the firing to the directional buttons as well.
An offset of 20. AMAZING. Maybe I should modify the rules so that scores are unsubmittable at 10K offset.

I don't think that's necessary just yet.

Ok, finally got around to my first attempt at this.
Dave_K. 451,240 - 489,160 - Stage 5
Honestly I don't see a reason for the 100K difference requirement. Its hard enough to try an ALL this in dual play, much less try to get an equal score across both ships? Plus if one ship dies, then as crokie mentions, you are purposely just using one ship over the other to try and equal up the score again...kinda defeats the purpose. I say just rank based on total score between both, like how Raiden 3 does it. If everyone can easily ALL it like that, then start throwing in these new challenges.

A double play challenge! My favourite. I jut need a second stick for my supergun. Once that's sorted you'll see me here for sure.
I knew I'd see you here DaveK!
